Now that BlackBerry has successfully launched their 2 pronged worldwide assault they are now preparing to penetrate the middle tier and emerging markets with the Q5. The news came out last week that Q10 apps will automatically support the Q5. I personally feel the vice versa of that is more important. The Q5 is going to be the model that sees mass adoption of BB10 as it's low price will appeal to younger buyers. So if my theory holds true then mass adoption of a platform can only be a good thing for the eco system of said platform and in this case I believe it could have a positive impact on the apps situation for the Q10 and things could just generally snowball and before you know it BlackBerry is back ruling the world hahah.

Your theory misses the fact that BlackBerry has said the Q5 is not going to be in markets where the Z and Q10 are (comparatively) affordable. Ie, the US, Canada, UK, etc.

But yes, apps made for the Q5 will also work on the Q10.

The Q5 is coming to the UK where the Curve series are consistently in the top ten best selling pre pay devices. I hope for the Q5 to continue that trend and get BB10 into more hands and pockets.

For 350GBP i can't see it appealing to the younger generation far to expensive for them at that price.

Yeah they should have dropped the price, 350 seems just too much

I can. Plenty of kids in the UK have iPhones, which are comparitvely more expensive. The Q5 WILL sell in the UK, full stop.

I agree 100%. I've seen a lot of kids in the city while at work with i5s, s4s and HTC ones. There is a big demand in the UK for the latest high quality 'gadgets'. It will sell well, just as the Z10 and the Q10 have.
