I just got my Q5 (used). I see a number on the edges/corners of the screen starting with 0x.........

Is this normal? and how do I remove it?

It a BlackBerry employee test device, but I don't know if you can update it to a new OS without number.

Either that or you're running a developer OS. What is your OS version

It's just a developer OS. No problem. Just run the most recent autoloader on your PC.

Download, unzip, plug in phone, run.

Turn off BlackBerry Protect before updating to make sure you can.

Device will be wiped in the process.

    Roger that. I'll do it.

It is surprisingly a big file. I'm surprised why that happened. But I will do it. Thanks a lot for helping and reassuring me. I was worried.

I'll have to read a little bit about what an "Autoloader" is, though. This is one of the those times where I feel completely clueless. hehe.

Just curious. Is it wrong to leave it like that?

You have a crippled OS, missing a lot of features.
