    Good afternoon all.
Apologies as I think this is a thread that has been started a million times but having read through them I still quite baffled. I should probably point out how limited my technical knowledge is and I'd probably be better off with 2 cups connected with string than a smart phone but there we go.

My q5 is telling my I'm almost out of storage. I've read through the previos posts but I think I've tried all the advice and nothing has helped. I've not downloaded any apps - I only have what the phone was pre loaded with and all of my photos/videos etc are on my SD card.

I think I need to perform a security wipe and I'd be so grateful if someone could break down in simple terms what I need to do from what I need to back up on blackberry link to restoring it back onto the phone. Additionally, will it restore my text messages and contacts as losing these is my biggest concern.
Apologies again for the repeat of what I think are common themes and thank you all in advance very much!

Before you go with a device wipe, try this:
    Settings/Storage and Access/Device Storage Details.
Let it sit a few minutes, until the four parts of the "pie" are populated and take a screen shot (press the two volume buttons at the same time, you should see a message "screen shot saved...")
    Post the screen shot.

Next, via Device Monitor, swipe down from the top from the home screen, choose Device Monitor.
Tap the Monitor menu on the lower left, select Memory.
Take a screen shot of that and post it also.

Here you go, full description on this link. But be patient while wiping. Sometimes it could take 12 hours or longer.

I'm facing the same problem but my storage isn't full yet, without downloading any new apps or media file, how can I avoid it because I don't want to do a security wipe! Thanks

Why not try the wipe? Any reason you're opposed to it?
