No I'm missing no parts - the antenna is a transfer on the plastic housing under the back cover, the antenna is warn thru in a couple of places from friction on back cover, probably the hundred times phones been dropped and knocked around. That or the friction where the antenna meets the pins from the main board. Think there's 4 sets of double contacts. The problem is with wifi reception.

thanks are you saying the nfc coil is used for wifi and I have a problem with connection to that so I should investigate that?

ps I have 2 gold pins like the one pictured that connect to the nfc coil neither of those fell out. pictured pin is not gold and is slightly larger than the 2 for the nfc connection

No, I think it's just for NFC.

Just for a lol I watched a YouTube video of a Q10 teardown and couldn't spot that piece anywhere. It's hard to gauge its size from the picture, and it's unlikely if the device switches on, but could it be a battery pin? Otherwise maybe some sort of spacer. *shrug*

Edit: maybe I should have looked at Q5 videos instead. *head smack*

Check all your ribbon cable again. I haven't a clue what that piece is.

The piece is not in the q5 videos, but I have put it back in the phone in a hole it fits in - beside the jack plug head phone socket. I think it provides the click that holds the head phone jack plug in. I did not try headphones when the pin was not in place. Its possible that some phones have a different jack socket maybe that's why it was not in the video. I watched videos before dis assembly but when I prised the phone open and the pin fell out I thought - well that's not supposed to happen.

Regarding the wifi problem, I checked now and NFC is not an antenna, it's a coil - when placed in close proximity to another coil it forms a transformer, the NFC message passes oscillations across the transformer. NFC coils can on some phones (not Q5) be used to charge and that's because its a coil like in a transformer.

Apparently I stand corrected. Glad you found the spot for that piece. I know that piece is not in a z10, but I was wrong about it not coming from your q5. My apologies.
