Hope someone can help me here.
The latest Software version on my Q5 is 10.2.1.3062 and I tried already several time to do an Software Update but was told that I have not enough free storage on my Devise. I should empty 1.5 GB for the update.
Today I took a bit more time and cleaned up the Device storage. According to all informations I can get on my Mobile I should have 3.03 GB free storage on my Device (not including the Media Card) and still my Mobile keeps on telling me that it need 1 GB more space. How can I tell my Q5 that it has the storage space it's needed already. Any idea ?

Backup, security wipe, update, restore. Or use BlackBerry Link on your PC.

    Hello Asmus,

This is actually a really popular fault with that particular OS update. What you have to do is connect your Q5 to you computer and do the Software Update through BlackBerry Link. This will fix you problem

Otherwise, you going to have to restore to factory default and update from there.

I would say that is a poor update process implemented by BlackBerry themselves. The files should be able to be downloaded into a secure location in the internal storage location. Then when booting, a call is made to check the contents and if it is an OS update, the loader copies the files into device OS memory location over writing the current OS. Whoever thought it prudent to copy the entire update directly into OS memory before writing over the older files was a moron.

    Hello,

    It's 10.3.1.2744

Link below takes you to the autoloader for your device.
Remember using autoloader will wipe your device.

FWIW, I wasn't able to upgrade even through the computer, and even though I had enough space.

In the end I did a backup, security wipe, and full update then via the computer. If it fails, try the update again. Mine worked, but it inexplicably took 3 tries.

    Hello,

With your desktop download the autoloader from the link below. After downloading connect your device to your desktop (link must be closed) and run the autoloader. Don't disconnect your device until the installation has finished. It will take 10 minutes.

Remember that when you use an autoloader all the information will be wiped of your device. You will have to setup all from scratch or restore from backup. If I were you, I would just backup your contacts and make it as clean as possible.

This post is correct and right on point.

I updated with BlackBerry Link and didn't have any problems.
