Here we go again!! Be careful people. The models without 4G LTE are always on sale. Here is a quote from the link provided above:
    **Model Number: SQR100-3:
    3G capable, NO 4G LTE**
When anyone buys a BlackBerry, no matter what model, always check to see what version it is and if it will do what you want.
I posted a thread about BestBuy selling the Q5 for $231.00. Well, I read the whole description and it did not provide any information on the version so I am not going to buy it.
In the USA or Canada the only Q5 that is worth it is the SQR100-1 RFR101LW.

It's going to be frustrating because you really aren't getting a device with full capabilities...

It's like buying a car with half the transmission. You'll never get it into 5th gear.

It only matters if you don't mind not having 4G LTE or NFC.

If I lived in Canada I'd buy those 150 dollar Q5s SQR100-1 and sell them to Americans all day long for 200 + shipping.

Been looking for a 100-1 in Red forever. Not going to pay 550 dollars for it though.

I've been using my SQR100-3 on AT&T for the past 2 months and it's been working beautifully !! It basically always shows 4G network enabled !!

Pretty much. Though HSPA+ is supported which is like 15 mb/s or more depending on your carrier or network.

So for T-Mobile, you'd never LTE with any of the models? Is there one that does?

From what I read, the first 2 models do...SQR100-1 & 2 !! The fact that my SQR100-3 does not doesn't impact me much since I basically use this puppy for business purposes and media playing. Only wish it had an 8MP camera like on my Z10.

The SQR100-1 will get LTE on AT&T and T-Mobile here in the US. T-Mobile and AT&T never officially supported the Q5 so that's why the SQR100-1 is hard to find. BlackBerry only sells the SQR100-1 from their website store for people in the USA. I know HSPA+ has pretty good speeds, LTE is faster. Sometimes by more than double. That's why most people prefer LTE. Otherwise some people don't really care either way.
Septembersrain#AC look up some of Raino's posts. In his sig he has links to the frequency bands of all the latest BlackBerry models. They show the bands and compatibility with which carriers.

    SQR100-1 for 200? I'd be so happy.

I wish they made a Q20 that looked as sexy as the Q5. Basically a Q5 with trackpad. And better camera.

BlackBerry made a mistake by not putting Q5 in the states. It's a damn good looking phone and had a lot of color choices. Had they sold it here for a decent price a lot of people may have tried it.

I agree. If I could get a new unlocked SQR100-1 Q5 for under $200 (or better $150 like in Canada) I would be all over it.
