Android phones are getting larger and larger every year and 5-inch, 5.5-inch, or even 6-inch phones are becoming common and many people seem to quickly getting used to and really enjoying larger size smartphones.

So, I wonder what if there were a larger version of the Q10 available - same form factor and exactly the same feel as Q10 but with larger square screen and larger QWERTY keyboard. Would you be interested?

The small size is one of the main reasons I have the Q10. I already dislike the iphone 5's size. I could never see me using a HTC one or galaxy s4 just because they are too big. I don't get the whole bigger screen is better when it comes to cellphones. The iphone 4 and the Q10 have the perfect size for me.

I don't have small hands btw

Couldn't have said it any better.

    Tablets exist for a reason

Keep the Q10 the way it is (however, add charging contacts and release a dock, update the OS and a bunch of Apps) and just get a tablet for entertainment - voila! problems solved...

Well anything larger would have to be a torch like slider. In that case I'm on board!

No. I don't use a phone for media purposes or browsing unless necessary. My phone is a business and work tool, therefore I need it to be of practical size and able to easily fit in a pocket or holster. Phone screens are too small, even phablet screens, for my needs. I have a PB with me most always for those purposes, and I still won't watch movies on a tablet or computer. I'm not so desperate for entertainment that I can't wait until I have access to a TV for that. The Q10 is as large a phone as I'm willing to use.

I'd love a slightly bigger Q10. I wish they they just extended the screen a bit more - feels squashed browsing the internet.

I personally wouldn't. I think it's pretty ridiculous seeing people putting these massive slabs up to their face to take a phone call. Sometimes I want to walk by and put like a text book up to my ear so they can see how it looks, lol. I also don't like how those big devices are to hold. Pretty unwieldy if held by one hand...

The dimensions are nearly identical on the Iphone 5, Iphone 4, and Q10. The S4 mini very close.

    I4 4.5 in (115.2 mm) x 2.31 in (58.6 mm) x 0.37 in (9.3 mm), 4.8 oz (137 g)
    I5 4.87 in (123.8 mm) x 2.31 in (58.6 mm) x 0.30 in (7.6 mm), 3.95 oz (112 g)
    Q10 4.71 in (119.6 mm) x 2.63 in (66.8 mm) x 0.41 in (10.4 mm), 4.90 oz (139 g)
    S4m: 4.91 in (124.6mm) x 2.41 in (61.3 mm) x 0.35 in (8.9 mm), 3.77 oz (107 g)

I use my Q10 for mostly biz and reading and while the screen is large enough for most things I can agree in the reasoning that bigger screens are just for movies or games. I have apps for instance that are very cramped because of the ui elements nessisary to manke them work right. A torch slider would be a perfect combo for this.

Having gone from a BlackBerry 9900 to a samsung note 1 and S3 it was a great releif rto come back to a device with a qwerty key board! I have never this much frustration over the in accuracy of the virtual keyboards eventhough I know I am typing correctly. I have to handle a lot of emails per day and the touch typing of android devices did not work nor serve my needs! However as per this thread sure I would like to see a larger screen and with the hyper fast LTE speeds of version 3 it would make a better device to Internet on!

After coming back to BlackBerry I had an epiphany!!!!! Hail the qwerty key board and in my opinions right now trumps all devices! I will stick with BlackBerry until they stop making qwerty keyboard devices!

Not supposed to put phablets next to your face - use a bluethooth earpiece or headsets! To each his own. I would trade-up the Q10 for a BB10 phablet. Web designers will not rush to update sites to include a layout for the Q10. If you zoom in, you'll need to constantly scroll. The Reader feature helps but not really a solution. It's a fast browser but usability stinks.

I have and learned to like a Note 2, and appreciated the size for what it was. However now having the Q10, I do appreciate it's portability.

I love the feel of the Q10 but would like it to be slightly taller. The problem is finding a balance that works. I think having a model with a 3.5" screen would be great. I don't want a slider but a slightly taller screen would be appreciated. When reading there is a lot of scrolling involved which would be solved with a taller screen and it would be amazing to have 1280x720 screen with a full physical keyboard.

I would and BB needs to keep pushing the iconic qwerty form factor. The screen needs to be a reasonable increase when compared to the Q10. The range should 3.3-3.6 inches, and that's it. Up the specs all the way around, bigger keyboard, premium build quality and materials, another year of building, improving, the OS and you have a huge winner. I don't know how many times I had ex BB users say I miss the keyboard, but screen is too small. A device like this will bring people back. I will sacrifice some 1 hand use, for the bigger screen real estate.

Don't want a slider, and don't want a 4+ inch screen on the classic qwerty form factor. The balance of the phone would be way off, its not a reasonable size.

I've been trying to get away from using a phone for Web browsing; it's just horribly inefficient no matter how large the screen. You're right that the usability generally sucks, but if I have to do something on the Web it has yet to let me down.

I have a bluetooth headset... It's collecting dust somewhere. It's just yet something else I need to find a pocket for when I'm not using it and yet something else I have to keep charged up. No thanks. All my pockets have something in them already, don't need to carry so much around like I need batman's utility belt. The simpler the better in my opinion...

As someone who bought the Q10 specifically for its superior communication capabilities (the physical keyboard, in particular) rather than for use as a multimedia device, I'd say the size of the Q10 is nearly perfect for me. Great keyboard, adequate screen size for my purposes, and it fits neatly in both my hands and in my pocket. Just right!
