I'm on Q10 TMO US on leaked 10.3.1.2243 blitz. I installed the leaked OS about three weeks ago when it came out. There were no major issues that I discovered then, not even the low notification that others experienced. However today, when I got home before 9AM after leaving home and being disconnected from my home wifi for about an hour, I could not connect to my home wifi and got other notifications that the wifi network where I connected to in the past even going back a few years, were disabled by my device. I was able to connect to my home wifi network again after restarting my phone.

Should i connect to the other wifi networks that were disabled, I wonder whether I would be able to connect automatically or I will need to enter the password once more.

Also, I am wondering whether this is a bug of the leaked OS, albeit with a delayed effect. Has others experienced this?

I've only had official OS's and this is a problem I've had with all of them from BB10 launch.

First, what steps have you already taken to troubleshoot this?

I would try a soft boot first:

Press and hold the Volume up key and the Volume down key at the same time for 10 seconds.

If that doesn't work, I would try reinstalling the radio file. The radio file handles wifi and mobile network radios. I always take a backup of my device before I install radios.

As I stated in the original post, I was already able to connect to my home network after a restart. I pressed the power button for a couple of seconds, then, pressed the restart button on the screen.

However, I was wondering whether this is a part of the 10.3.1.2243 bugs, although, I have already installed .2243 for around 3 weeks now. I have installed several leaks and official OSes on this phone and it is only this time that this happened.

Hey Folks... I have a Z30 with the new 10.3.1.1581 and am having the exact same issue. The device has gone through and disabled all Wi-Fi profiles, including the one I'm trying to use at home. If you try to reconnect it simply won't authenticate. If you soft boot, it will connect and remain connected for a random amount of time.

So, this is happening also so Z30, not just Q10; .1581, not just .1565. I assume you got the official OS, while I got the leaked .1565.

When did you install your OS? I installed mine around 3 weeks ago, but it just did this today. Also, it could not connect even if you try to, unless I reboot.

The wife has the shopblackberry Z30 bought during the promo recently which has not received an update yet. She might pass on this update until all these bugs are resolved first.

I didn't install any of the Beta 10.3 code. My carrier pushed the Gold release on Friday of last week. I installed it Friday evening, February 20th. Unfortunately Blend doesn't really work as the Z30 keeps dropping the WiFi.

If your wife relies on WiFi, I would avoid 10.3 until this element becomes more stable.

Do a soft reboot on both your router and device. Then, go back into wi-fi settings re-enter password and re-enable -> It should reconnect.

I'm getting most of my saved wifi networks disabled when I go out of range of the current wifi network, for example I'm on wifinet1 in my office and go to home, on the moment I go out of range all my wifi networks get disabled, it is a random problem, I have to go and activate the network each time.

Anybody else suffering this issue? I have just one BlackBerry Z30 doing this out of about nine BlackBerry 10 phones on the same Wi-Fi Network and that device has disabled two other networks as well, others that aren't in range.

Rebooting the device only works temporarily and there's obviously nothing wrong with the Wi-Fi if all the others are connecting to it without issue

Can be the DHCP lease or the max number of connected devices from your router. Did you have the same issue when this phone is the only one connected ?

By the way, you have access to the Wi-Fi logs in Settings > Networks and Connections. Select Wi-Fi and tap the advanced button at the bottom (the 2 sliders). Then select Logs. You can share them here (there is a button to copy them), don't forget to delete your PIN before posting though

The DHCP lease or max number of devices across three separate Wi-Fi networks? Unfortunately I restarted the device just to get it back onto the Wi-Fi network for the time being and it looks like that resets the Logs. Thank you though, I'll post them back here next time the network is disabled.

Thanks for the tip about removing the PIN, in my naivety, I'd have probably not even realised I was posting that. Okay, it's taken a while for the device to start disabling Wi-Fi Networks, but this morning it's ALIVE! The message about disabling these networks is appearing and then reappearing on a constant loop; all seven of the saved networks. Here are the logs:

a restart of the device will solve that...but it will reappear again in a couple of weeks, just like mine. I am already on my second 10.3.1, ie, .2558, and my phone still does that - the last time was last Friday.

I'm hoping that the logs might tell Joshu42 something useful, otherwise I'll just have to hope that the most recent update (.1784 for me) has fixed the issue.

Pretty clear here You have an issue with WPA_Supplicant (either phone or router side, or both). The reason given by your phone is "PREV_AUTH_NOT_VALID" ; that means that previous authentication for your router roamed 'from' can't be reused (channel, frequence, time... have changed). It's treated as a security risk and your phone disconnected. Further authentication gave the same result.

Rebooting your phone restart WPA_Supplicant (disable/enable Wi-Fi may do the same by the way). So, there is no previous authentication to used. And a complete handshake is made the next time.

Quick note : Limit your router to the 2.4 band (no 5Ghz/Dual band). Change your current router's channel (try 1, 6 or 13. Avoid 11). Prefer WPA2-PSK/AES encryption (avoid TKIP at all cost). Of course, as your issue is relevant to WPA, using something like WEP will solve your connection issue but will decrease by a LOT your security ratings. I can't recommend you that. Last but not least, check if there is a new firmware available for your router (don't think that it's not its fault because other devices, which don't treat security threats seriously, have no disconnection).

At this point, restart is the only solution that temporary solves the problem. It takes about a couple of weeks before the wifi connections i made in the past start being disabled in succession.

Also, while we may be able to control our own router, we cannot manipulate the routers of other establishments whose wifi we have connected to in the past. There has to be something in 10.3.1 that trigger this wifi disconnection that was not in 10.2.1 as this never happened to me in 10.2.1, but happened in 2 versions of 10.3.1 i.e. 2243 and 2558.

Thanks all very much for your help on this. The latest update didn't fix this problem so I have backed-up, flattened and restored the phone. I am hoping this will reset the authentication issues between the phone and the Wi-Fi networks as and when the user reconnects to these networks (the Wi-Fi network information was not saved during this process). If you don't hear from me again then it has worked and thanks again for your help!
