I am attempting to back up my Q10 using BB Link. I have downloaded the latest Link software, the latest Blend software and checked that the latest driver software for my Q10 is installed on my laptop via the device manager. The laptop operating system is Windows 7. It all works ok using wi-fi to sync pictures and files etc. The issue I have is that Link will not connect to my Q10 via USB in order to do a back up. When I plug the Q10 in, I get 4 choices of "install drivers, access SD card, charge only or ignore". When I choose install drivers it goes to a screen saying your PC is trying to download Blend. I have Blend! I have tried restarting both the Q10 and laptop, removing the device and starting again, and using a different USB port but no joy. Under normal circumstances the Q10 would have rebounded off several walls by now but I can't risk losing all my contact information. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

i would suggest deleting everything blackberry and running CCleaner on your PC. then reboot. Then re-install all the drivers, link, blend and so on.

Thanks for the reply. Before I do that, what do you think the problem is? And how safe is CCleaner?

I am more comfortable using Backup Pro, rather than BB Link.
(Backup Pro is available in BB World)

CCleaner is very safe. Recommend creating a restore point prior to cleaning the Registry.

Have used Ccleaner weekly. It does a good job. Worth it.

Go to Settings > Storage and Access, then scroll to the bottom and make sure that USB Mass Storage is off. Having it turned on will restrict your ability to sync via USB.

Why won't my Q10 back up via USB?-img_20150729_084041.png
