Blackberry World has not announced stopping support.
They have joined with Amazon to confirm their commitment with apps that can run in both platforms.
So, if you can't find the app you want in BBWorld you'll find it in the Amazon App store.

Well, everything comes to an end sooner or later but, you'd be safe saying "not for a long long time.
Enterprise is still very much alive and well.

But if you consider how mobile devices just happened overnight out of nowhere, they could disappear just as quick.
I'd love to see these whiners try to figure out how to put a quarter in a pay phone and then have no clue what the dial thingy was for.

My Amazon app store stopped working almost a year ago and I kept getting prompted to install the underground app instead. When I read the permissions the app wanted I promptly decided NOT to install it! Is there any way to get the original Amazon app store to work again?

Sounds strange to me, since I still use the App-Shop app. But nevertheless I'd like to kill it off completely, for one can use alternative - and arguably better - app stores. Such as Snap (not working on 10.3.3) or F-Droid / Aptoide. Those are much less intrusive as Amazon is.

But to come B2T:

I'm too worried abbout BBW closing down some day. But for now I just back up my device on a regular basis, including all my apps. So everything will be back when restoring. This way I can at least always go back to status quo.

I know, LINK doesn't work fine on modern OSs, but keep in mind that there's always a way. You could set up a VirtualBox with Windows XP or 7, to run LINK for backups and other non compatible applications.
