Please, can someone clarify and give some information about it. Cheers!

As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. At the end of 2016, we will no longer support the following platforms:
    BlackBerry, including BlackBerry 10
    Nokia S40
    Nokia Symbian S60
    Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
    Windows Phone 7.1
    iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
These platforms don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.
Once you have one of these devices, simply install WhatsApp and verify your phone number on the new device to continue using WhatsApp. Keep in mind that WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.
There is currently no option to transfer your chat history between platforms. However, we provide the option to send your chat history attached to an email. Learn how to export your chat history on: Android | iPhone | Windows Phone | Nokia S40 | BlackBerry | Nokia S60 | BlackBerry 10
    Cheers,

It means that BB10 will receive no whazzup updates after 2016. Any new feature in the future will not be available for listed users. Make sure you have latest working version installed on your phone and use it until you get bored with it.

Don't get me wrong but I agree to disagree. It would be the first time ever that some software platform denies connectivity solely based on OS dispute. I am not aware of any drastic connectivity improvement which new/upcomming OS's have.

Advise away... The real trick though is for getting them to follow your advice.

There isn't anything that anyone can clarify for you. You need to be comfortable with the uncertainty that Whatsapp may likely stop working for you after 2016 of you continue to use BB10 after that point.

The best you can do is expect the worst and that come Juanuary 1st, no more Whatsapp for BB10. There is a chance that it MIGHT work longer than that but there is no guarantee and it should not be expected to do so. The original Facebook app continues to work (somewhat) since support for it has officially ended so you can still be optimistic if you choose. The fact is though, nobody will know just how abruptly Whatsapp will cease to work for BB10 once their announced end of support comes.
