If this is true, I may have to give up my Q10 devices that I have been using for years.

As has been stated in other threads, no one really knows for sure what is going to happen with WA.

It's possible that the android version may work on BlackBerry devices.

The BlackBerry facebook app still works even though the kill date was earlier this year.

I haven't updated my WA app for several months, then I could not use the app anymore, it always just popped up a message, that I need to update if I want to continue using WA.
So for those, thinking, that whatsapp can't shut of the service at 01.01, you are wrong!
Android version may remain functioning.
