My wife is upgrading from a 9900 (keyboard is failing) to a Q10. Do I just take the MicroSD out of the 9900 and pop it into the Q10 and the Q10 accesses all the music, photos and videos without formatting?

When I am using Blackberry link to change from the 9900 to the Q10 I presume I need to have the MicroSD in the 9900 for the bit when it is connected and then swap it into the Q10 when link asks for the Q10, or does it not matter and link does not move the MicroSD card data anyway?

Just put the SD in the Q10, Link does not even get close to that part of the device.

Folders will be a mess. The entire BB10 file estructure plus the BB7 one.

It will just happen. My advice is back the SD up, format it inside the Q and then restore the data, each on the new folders BB10 just created.

Frank's right - you'll get the old file structure intact plus the BB10 structure - at least that's what happened when I moved the SD card from my 8800 to my Q10.

Nothing will happen to the file structure or your files. I put the card from my Android in the Q10 and everything was there.

You don't understand. Frank means that the old BB7 files and folders will still be there, and new BB10 folders will be there as well. So you have lots of excessive folders, ones that the new OS don't even use anymore. It will be a mess.

No, not really. They both use pretty much the same folders structure.

Only extras will be books and voice, which are new to BB10.
