@popengchan This is the same version of Viber in the BlackBerry World that is unavailable for Q10/Q5. Yes is a porting but the difference with the version from Play Store or other sources is that version are optimized for BlackBerry Devices.
Example in this version the settings is working on Q10/Q5.

    Thanks a lot, @wMarck90 !
its been a month i switched from Android to BB10! - and im very happy with my Q5 : )
the only thing i lacked was Viber properly working (often "harassed" by that popup feature which always suddenly puts viber on screen) and still lack Telegram.

    thanks a lot!
however, i am curious, how did you manage to *get* the .bar AND extract the .apk from it?
i know the other way around is easy and possible, but bar to apk, is a total mystery to me

Extract the .bar with 7Zip and you found the .apk in the "Android" folder

All this trouble for a simplistic (seemingly, obviously not) apk file ported over to a .bar file for BB10?

This app sucks! We're told not for BB10, then for BB10 coming soon, then months later and THIS CRAP is all Viber is willing to muster up for BB10? Pretty much a waste of developers time and moreso the companies $$ in over paying the developers whom probably charged for the hours their hanging out eating or entertaining a new project.

Sorry for ganging up on developers ... but these APK ports are becoming far too common for me to really enjoy or see the efforts of their work. I really should be blaming those in charge of developer relations at BlackBerry .. these ports are never going to highlight the benefits and hard work put into showcasing BB10 only to have and show up an Android experience.

BAR -> APK... from what I know BAR is just a renamed file. its a ZIP file that can be open by winzip.

What puzzle me is how to get BAR file from BBWorld?

The .bar coming from a personal source. I don't got from BBWorld.

@N4BB Lucas Is always nice to see when someone take something from you and don't say nothing, but that's not all. Using also adf.ly to earn.

@wMarck90 did a checksum to compare both files, the one posted here, and the one posted by that guy on youtube without giving credits.

As the hashes are exactly the same, it means the guy on youtube is sharing the very same file, and simply renamed it.

Also thank you @wMarck90 , I assume then you simply extracted the .bar from a compatible device you own

I can't get the access code via both SMS and phone call argh. It would be so much simpler if Viber made a BB-native app

I managed to install and configure Viber on q10.
However, it works bad and drains battery.
I am giving up for now and wait if native version appears.

Thanks for the effort and instructions.

Don't hold your breath on that. I don't think we'll see a native version any time soon.

I believe that Viber can develop native version and lot of BlackBerry users expected that. They failed because they don't want to invest effort for us.
I will not rely on any app 24/7 that does not integrate in hub.

There are messengers better than Viber (bbm) that should be more popular if we are considering quality only. The rest is marketing and funny stickers.
