In the leading German magazine for smartphones etc. "connect" the Q10 got a "very good" in the conclusion. So it is on the third place in their "best-of-list" of ALL smartphones (touch and hardware keyboard devices) - congratulations!

As comparision: the Z10 only received a "good" in the test two or three months ago.

BlackBerry is definately back in my opinion - also, so I still think (and hope) in Germany (the not-BlackBerry-Country up to now)!!!

Connect sucks though in my opinion. They notoriously rate the iphone really low although it is a good device. They give too many points for useless stuff and forget what really counts.

Good to know. Have a pic of the Q10 with the German keyboard?

I know the Russian guys were complaining that there isn't a Cyrillic version of the Q10 yet. But the marketshare in Russia for Blackberry is even worse than in Germany.

Anyway, the German Federal Government signed a large contract for Blackberries, so definitely it seems that it will be nothing but "going up" in Germany for Blackberry now..

Thanks. So that's it, just a Euro key instead of a Dollar key, eh? Interesting.

Yes. sadly the Umlauts are missing...

The Connect forgot the Outlook sync which is possible now! -> With that = more points

Wish there was a better way to use umlaute . The way it is now is really slow.

That was something I really liked about most Nokia keyboards: They either had easier access to Umlaute or, even better, had dedicated keys for them like the E7 or Communicator range of devices.
Blackberry is rather limited in terms of keys, unless they kind of include more keys with their keyboards, iit won't be easy to get a better solution

I started to replace , , with oe, ae, ue ... but dedicated keys would be perfect for exaple <alt>+<a> =

The funny thing is, I am always getting these "foreign" characters when I don't want them, when I'm holding down a virtual keyboard key to capitalize it on my Z10. I actually wish I could disable that.

On my previous BB's, "hold to capitalize" had a much shorter time delay. Now the delay is longer, and with more options, ie options for an "extended" version of the character in question.

Is that how you enter an umlaut now on the Q10 - hold down ie an "o" and then select from the list?

Very good to hear. Go Q10!!

They should update the z10 keyboard as well with umlaut. You also have to click on ?123 and then &% to place in the ? sign. It should be on the place where the $ sign is when using german input, or french....
