I just got off the phone with VZN cust service and the gentleman I spoke with said there are not ANY updates for ANY of the OS 10 phones (?!).

He said that he went to the Blackberry site and said he couldn't find ANY mention of ANY updates for ANY Blackberry devices. When I explained to him that I was also on the Blackberry site and it was the top of the page in BIG BOLD LETTERS he paused and just repeated that there was no update that he was aware of at this point.

The rep was very pleasant and tried to show me ways to lower my bill (which I appreciate), but it shocks me that their professional, trained reps appear to know NOTHING about their own product. I fully understand that Blackberry is not a main line for them anymore, but still, a little bit of knowledge is not too much to ask.

Then again, they are only a mutli-billion dollar technology company, maybe I am asking too much.

Rant over...I feel better now.

I admire you for trying but I would have assumed a customer service rep knows nothing of this issue. Why BlackBerry isn't coordinating this at some level is beyond me. I'm sure there will be people who say carrier, testing, blah, blah, blah. Still makes no sense to me.

Finally got to someone that knows something. Take this for what it's worth (whatever that means)

So there is no new software update in Verizon's system for the Q10 for future release. When the current OS was released it was in Verizon's system a month before.

For the Z10, the 10.2.1 release was in their system 5 days before it released to the public.

Not showing any future update in their system seems a bit troubling especially since we were all hoping for that rumored date of the 4th. The PDF will be updated online the day of release.

Fingers crossed it happens soon

Haha yes, I'm done checking for the next couple days at least. Guess I'll call back Monday and see if anything is in their system yet.

Can you just remove the SIM card and check for update through wifi? It worked for my wife's q10 on Giffgaff. It is possibly a coincidence though.

My understanding is that because vzw is CDMA the SIM is only there for international use. Removing it and updating through Wi-Fi yields the same result as when it's in.

Please correct me if I'm wrong

Haven't even looked into Sachesi but may Friday or Saturday if no update or info by then. Anyone have a link to the forum on how to do it? On a Mac and VZW Q10. I can search when I get to a comp if not.

FedEx just delivered the new Q10. Activated, set up my email, played with it for a few seconds (didn't want to spend too much time learning the old system) before plugging in the charger and then came here

Forgot to add, the Q10 maintenance release that coincided with the release of the device on VZW was in their system about a month before it went live.

So it should show up in the system before release, so if we keep calling every week or so, it may pop up and we may get some answers.

When I uploaded 10.2, I used the Rogers update (302/720) and whatever the default Sqn was (I can't remember what it was). It doesn't have to match the model you have.

Holy hell is this frustrating. Was MOC it all day checking for the new 10.2.1 software release beginning at 8am EST. Checked all day at work and nothing. Rushed home from work, connected my Q10 and expected to receive the update and then NOTHING!! Glad this forum is here to share stories. This is re-gaad-damn-diculous. Q10 on Verizon. I feel like we are the only Blackberry people on Earth that DON'T have the update!!!!

I called Verizon tech. Apparently the guy I talked to didn't have an answer and he even contacted Blackberry for an update. Apparently Blackberry pulled it due to a network problem.

I said it must be that "great" CDMA technology you are using.

I also reminded him that Q10 owners on Verizon are the only ones on the planet that do not have the update yet.

He actually knew that.


But hea. At least we do not have AT&T where we can only hit the OTA update button once every 24 hours.

I don't think they have. Maybe T-Mobile, but I'm on AT&T with a Q10 and I haven't been getting an update. I heard it comes February 10th for me.
