    My uncle took my usb cable and plug to charge his samsung phone, it's working but I'm afraid it could potentially cause damage to it. Would it cause damage to the cable and/or the box plug converter thing?

    Fundamentally all chargers are the same. No harm will come to either device.

    Hell, it might even charge his samsung quicker, lol.

    I don't think so, the output is the same as if it's plugged in your phone.

    It will not harm your cable or converter...
