Damn you Blackberry, I update to 10.3 and you randomly switch the themes to white background (to annoy me and burn battery). You should have defaulted ALL upgrade settings to Dark and THEN show us how to go to white background if we so choose.

Forcing the "Classic" look of icons and fonts on q10 users is really very irritating. I want my large icons back as an option or very quick future upgrade as the q10 is functional with these.

You Quality Control continues to disappoint.

AFAIK, Q10 won't get 10.3 but 10.3.1. Is that an official update or leak?

I have 10.3.1 on my Q10 and beside the hub everything is black ?!

Yes, the app I use all day (the Hub) has a white background. Blackberry really needs to focus on software quality control. Is there a fix to change Hub to Dark?!

What do you mean "fix"? It's always been light.

Although it was rumoured that the hub may have a dark option at some point, that has become unlikely as all new devices appear to be lcd instead of amoled.

It's always been light? Really... I know let's build a slider that no one wants and not make very helpful software changes... A great pity.

Well, I certainly find some helpful software changes going to 10.3.1:

Instant actions (triage) in the HUB (one touch delete, flag, or file), new camera features like panorama, ability to access quick settings from anywhere with 2 finger swipe, upgraded Android Runtime to version 4.3 with improved notifications, BlackBerry Assistant, no limits to apps in folders, advanced interactions (like lift to wake, flip to mute, flip to save power), improved notification profiles (like HUB++), ability to hide pictures from camera roll, battery saving mode, enhanced permission control for Android apps, and more.

As for the Slider, I for one am looking forward to it - as an all-touch flagship phone with optional keyboard.

    Different strokes for different folks.

I see little value to Blackberry in releasing yet another phone. I see NO value in a Slider phone.

But if they would sponsor the development of key business apps (they developed the Facebook app) and took less than 30% commission on app sales, they might survive.

OK. You seem to be jumping around a bit. You started with lack of dark hub, moved to lack of "useful" software changes with 10.3.1 update, and now to app development.

I think they've taken software partnerships as far as others would allow. I'm sure no one more than BlackBerry would have wanted better results in that space, but that's where we are.

Is a Q10 AMOLED or LCD? The latter doesn't use more battery regardless of the background.

Just checked. AMOLED. I agree BlackBerry should have dark themes for AMOLED screens.

Yes, but the impetus to develop it no longer exists because all new devices are lcd.

Development time for a Dark Background should be less than 2 hours from design to test.

I agree the hub should have at least the option to be dark. Even on LCD, I much prefer having dark themes for when I'm using my phone in a dark environment !

I don't understand what the problem for BB is in releasing a dark hub... It's just a matter of inverting colours. This is not a case of there being not enough man-power or funding: it's just a matter of BB not caring what the customers want.
