    Hi,
I am in for buying a new phone, and I can't take my mind of the Q10 since January 30th, because of the awesome QWERTY Keyboard.
Physical Keyboards are the best. I had a Blackberry Curve earlier, and now use Android. I want to badly make the shift, only because
of the physical keyboard. Some questions:
    1) I would like to buy the Q10, unlocked in white, because I hate having the logos of the carriers on my phone. I hate it!
The black one has a smooth matte finish, is the white similar to that?
    2) I plan on going to T-Mobile, so will I be able to buy a unlocked LTE model?
Also, any comments about the Q10 on T-Mobile?
    3) I use whatsapp a lot. Any comments on how it runs on the Q10? I am pretty sure its great. Can I type whatsapp ABC in the universal
search, like BBM ABC is possible?
    Thanks!
p.s. I love the peek gestures, and the hub.

    2) All Q10 models are LTE capable. However, T-Mobile does not sell a Q10 in white. There is no carrier that sells a white Q10 that is 100% compatible with all of TMO's networks everywhere. TMO primarily uses the AWS (1700) band for HSPA+, and only the T-Mobile Q10 has this band. They also use the PCS (1900) band in some places, but that's very location dependent.

So keeping the HSPA+ caveat in mind, you may be able to get a Verizon white Q10 and make it work on TMO. It has the PCS band for HSPA+, and also has TMO's LTE band. It is sold unlocked by Verizon. I personally would not buy a Verizon Q10 for use on TMO (or any GSM network, for that matter,) but it may be an option for some.

Currently whatsapp to a particular contact does not work through universal search, I think this is something whatsapp needs to update. But you can open the app with search. Q10 works great on T-Mobile, no issues. And judging by recent events, T-Mobile is the first to release the device and also first to release new updates for BB10 phones in USA.

Regarding the white model, I have not yet had chance to hold one, so can not comment on it.

    Thanks cjterminator & raino.
    It helps a lot!
I will keep that in mind, and maybe not buy the Verizon one.
I was wondering if I could buy one from Canada? Does blackberry sell the Q10 on its own, without carrier branding? Like you could buy an iPhone from an apple store, is there a same thing for BB?
Also, waiting for someone for a comparison on the feel of white and black models. I have been only able to use the black one until now.

From what I have heard here in the forums, it is not very easy to buy a device at full retail (i.e. with a contract,) but I can't imagine it being that hard, if you can do it in the US. That being said, I don't think the SQN100-5--the exact TMO model--of the Q10 exists in white.

Again, if you buy in Canada, you have only one carrier option for white: Rogers. But there are a couple of issues:

    1. Rogers only sells SQN100-1 and SQN100-3 models of the Q10. Neither has the AWS HSPA+ band for TMO's networks (the -1 does have the 1900 band, though.)

    2. The -1 model has to be ordered from Rogers Customer Service--from what I understand, you can't just go to a store and buy it. Therefore, I really doubt they would sell one to a non-customer.

My recommendation is get the Q10 from T-Mobile at full retail. You can do that by getting a prepaid sim card pack for $50 which gives you unlimited talk, text, and 4GLTE data for one months.

Then just buy a White Q10 back cover and use it, the mix of black and white is amazing.

    That's what I did

The only Q10 that can absolutely without a doubt get T-Mobile LTE is the SQN100-5 (which currently only sold in black)

T-Mobile in most cities use the 1700 Mhz aka AWS for LTE, but HSPA+ on both 1700 Mhz and 1900 Mhz too.

Most of the news about HSPA+ being on 1900 Mhz is coupled in with iPhone cause the iPhone uses 1900 Mhz for HSPA+

T-Mobile's Fourth Quarter Report Discusses First LTE Networks, iPhone, And 1900MHz HSPA+ Launches | TmoNewsTmoNews

T-Mobile is still in the process of enabling of their 3.5G HSPA+ to use 1900 Mhz everywhere though.

Anyway if you don't go with an SQN100-5 Q10 then you probably won't get LTE.

Below are links to the Q10 models and bands.

Actually, there are three Q10 models that can get LTE on TMO: the -5 (obviously,) the -1 and the -2. They all have the LTE 1700 band.

But only the -5 has the UMTS 1700 band that TMO uses for HSPA+. But if you are in a confirmed 1900 MHz area and/or in an LTE area, the -1 could be something worth considering. Keep in mind though, as soon as you step out of TMO's LTE network or their 1900 MHz HSPA+ network, you will most likely drop down to EDGE speeds with the -1.

Buy the black Q10 from T-Mobile get on a post plan though it's no contract and take advantage of the PHP insurance bundle. After before you order housing make sure that it is the housing chasis compatible with your device because on the z10 I have read here in the forums that housing between stl-100-1 through 4 may have a slight deference, not all but at least one.

If and when you do decide to dismantle it and something goes wrong you can reassemble and do a warranty exchange. Though it voids warranty you may be responsible to cover the cost for the out of warranty device about 150 that's if mangle it and send it back I only had to do this twice though. I've taken apart at least 7 models it takes practice and it can be risky.

The white q10 on the website says that it is compatible with Tmobile and ATT if I'm not mistaken.

Jojo212 nice where did you order it from? I got a white z10 from Wind Mobile And it's working great on T-Mobile they use the same bands. I'm going to contact BlackBerry to see if they can tell me the exact model they are selling now.
