I was wondering about how much the qwerty device would cost I'm hoping it'll be in the 400$ range but that's being optimistic ,how much do you think it will cost?

Well it's out now so the price offered in my city by ALL the different carriers (Rogers, Fido, Bell etc) is $650. The local cell phone companies that have unbranded ones are charging $650 or $700 (seen both).

I would say 700CAD min, it will take at least 6 months for you get one around $400 possibly
