Just a little background, I've had a Blackberry before and I absolutely loved it. But after the wear and tear and laggy system of my curve 8900 I made the switch. And trust me I held out. After an iPhone 4s and 5s later, Blackberry releases the Passport. I crave the tactile response of a physical keyboard and a productivity tool. I tried so very hard to make my iPhones a productive tool, but they've failed. Anyway, I'm wanting to switch so I can get used to the physical keyboard and OS of a blackberry and then transition to the Passport. Is this wise?

    I would. I'm not a q10 owner but I switched from android to z30 and it's great.

I switch from iphone 5s to BBQ10 today.
The Q10 is what I need, it's mi communications tool.
I have an iPad for the stuff that blackberry 10 doesn't have.

I went from an iPhone 4S to the Q10 - no regrets at all.
And yes, it's a good gateway drug to the Passport, though I am not moving to the harder stuff myself.
The Passport keyboard is quite different from the Q10's so be aware of that, but the OS is going to be the same, assuming you install a leaked version of 10.3.0 or 10.3.1 on the Q10.
    Have fun!

I have a 5s (and had the 4 before that). Went to the 4 after I gave up on the crappy BlackBerry 7OS and the horrid internet experience that came with it. Other than the form factor of my last Bold, the old BlackBerry OS had few redeeming qualities compared to the iOS and its app ecosystem.

When BlackBerry updated to OS 10.x.y I traded a mifi hotspot for a second work only line that I can use as a hotspot and picked up a Q10 on release. The modern BlackBerry OS is certainly the equal of the main competitors even if it doesn't have an equivalent homegrown app ecosystem.

The iPhone keyboard still leaves a lot to be desired. I thought swype would cure what ails the iPhone, but it doesn't. If you are thinking of switching and you are even thinking about the Q10, I would ask you: why not try the passport? I think the Q10 is a great phone in many ways, but given what I have seen about the new flagship device, if productivity is really your key, and not just communication, you can get the best of both worlds with the passport rather than going with a Q10 pit stop first.

Fyi, I think the Q10 is a great phone, the keyboard is awesome, but I prefer to have a trackpad and phone keys. If you don't care about the tool belt and want both keyboard and touch screen try a passport.

You could wait for the Classic too. I have the Q10 and we have had Apple and still have some Android devices. We really enjoy the BB10 experience.

Hi! I am a Q10 user. And I would say it's not too late to try the Q10. But if you have the means, I advise you to go on flagship (which is the BlackBerry Passport) device because it has the best of specs of BlackBerry. I love the BlackBerry keyboard very much. So as for me I'm waiting for the Classic, because I think I won't be able to adopt the unique 3-row of the passport.
