all of a sudden a bunch of my contacts- when they text me- and i open the text it just shows the number up top and not contact name.

just do a hard reset, what phone do you have,

Mine has been doing this frequently. For me, its the gmail-synced contacts that it happens to. I have done battery pulls but it didnt help. I go to settings, then changing the sync interval for my gmail contacts, then saving. After it re-syncs, the names come back.

Then don't, it's not like it's a bad thing. It's just the new way of doing a battery pull
