I know there have been talks of Blackberry folding under and selling the co. but I haven't followed and hope that it wasn't true. How is Blackberry doing now in the market?

That's old news at this point. BlackBerry's CEO John Chen is pursuing the sale of software and security services to enterprise and business customers rather than the sale of handsets to the consumer market. The BlackBerry Leap, Classic, and Passport reflect this focus. BlackBerry can't compete directly against Apple and Samsung with less than one percent market share in the US.

So are we all going to be out of luck soon and have to convert to Apple or Android?

If it happens one day that BlackBerry no longer makes a phone - and that's a pretty big if - Windows Mobile will hopefully have had time to perfect their devices a bit more offering another viable option...

I was wondering that when I bought my BlackBerry Curve a few years ago. I'm on my second BB phone now and expect to buy another sometime. The Leap just came out and the Slider is due by the end of the year. Anyone whose looking for a new high end all touch BB phone aimed at the consumer market that will really impress their Apple and Samsung friends may have to wait longer than they want to. If your just looking for a good phone that provides good value, you've got a few choices with BlackBerry.

Still less than one percent market share and not going anywhere anytime soon.

I certainly would have agreed with you a few years ago. However, these days it would be difficult to decide who should win the "most evil" award between Microsoft, Apple and Android...

I know that's why it's sad that Nokia is planning to go out of mobile business
