Correct, the iPhone 5 is the first to use a nano SIM. The 4 was the first to use a micro SIM I believe, or at least the first popular model to use it.
Kind of annoying if you ever need to swap it back into an old handset (there are adapters, but they are often too thick) for any reason. When you see how ridiculously large the latest Androids are getting, you'd think there'd be more than enough space for a regular SIM! But I guess in a few years micro SIM will have become the de facto standard.

you dont need an adapter to get the sim to work in a phone...im using an iphone 5 nano sim in my bold 9900...just gotta get the contacts to align with the sim card and your good
