How do I do this? I rather stay on 3G to improve battery life. By no means does it NEED improvement, but I'd like it. I don't have much use for 4G

Just helped someone with same issue this is my answer from that post:

Get to help me! screen by going into settings, about, then type escr.

    Go to http://www.unlockbase.com/widget/bla...een-keygen.php
And enter info as needed from the help me screen to get escreen code.

When you have the code you must go back to help me screen and type it in while on that screen. I have done it numerous times becuase of reception issues with my first Q10.

http://bbunlocks.com/escreen.php try that one. You only put in what is on the Help Me! Screen. Nothing else.

This doesn't work for Verizon. There is no App Version info on the escreen. It only provides OS Version which is not accepted. Where do you get the App Version info?

It does if you follow the directions in this thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...on-q10-820143/.
    Get code from here: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9...elpScreen.html
Ap version is the OS version.
I did it yesterday on my Verizon Q10 and it really works.

I just did this with no issue. Instead of the app version the OS version is there that is what you type in the escreen code gen under app version.

This seems unnecessary when it looks like you can just do it with the phone settings as Lendo78 suggested. Aside from that I have also read on other CB posts that turning off data services also turns off the LTE.

You cannot do it from the about menu. That feature is not there.

Hey guys. I have been following this post and another that is similar. I have a family plan with my wife who has a Z10 and I have a Q10.

Last night I tried over and over again to get into the settings on my phone and was not able to. When my wife got home, I tried on hers and was able to get in on the very first try. We changed her phone so it is on 3G and already she can tell a difference in battery life in just a night.

I wondered if anyone who has the Q10 would be able to help me a little bit. I have followed the instructions carefully. Here are the steps I go through:

    1. Open browser and type escreen:// in the address bar. When I do that, a screen comes up verifying that I want to get into the help screen. I confirm.

    2. I use the link to go to a site that asks me to enter my pin, my app version, my uptime, and select the number of days I want the code to be valid.

    3. The page in step 2 gives me a code that I type in on the help page from step 1.

I have tried typing the code in case sensitive and I have tried ignoring case. I have tried with the browser in desktop mode and not in desktop mode.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

You as well clearly do not have this device... Furthermore, turning data services off will certainly shut off your LTE connection, and your 3G and 2G capabilities as well you'll have no data connection

This was my original post above. Follow it precisely.

Instead of putting the APP VERSION that the key gen asks for put your OS VERSION as seen on the Help Me screen.

Get to help me! screen by going into settings, about, then type escr.

    Go to http://www.unlockbase.com/widget/bla...een-keygen.php
And enter info as needed from the help me screen to get escreen code.
