I've always used ishieldz creen protectors on all my devices. So since April when I first got my BlackBerry I've installed a screen protector. It lifted and came off yesterday and I was surprised how much more tactile the screen is without a film of plastic over top! Should I put another one on or just leave it protector free!? I've never not used one so just wondering what the ramifications are long term!?

I never use them. I'd rather use my device and enjoy it than have the experience worsened by an ugly screen "protector". Small scratches aren't a big deal, they don't ruin functionality. Large scratches are difficult to get and are generally not protected by a thin piece of plastic anyway. You're much more likely to drop and Crack the screen than you are to get a giant scratch.

Then even after two years if I have a couple of light scratches, who cares? You can get a new phone.

Granted you will lose little tactile or screen responsiveness, but I can live with that compared to seeing a screen that has scratches.

Imagine, every time you see your phone, you see that scratch. And don't forget that to replace a screen costs almost as 1/3 or a new phone. Ouch!

Definitely install a screen protector! That's the first thing I do when I get a phone. Screens always seem to get scratched so easy, I just never want to take the risk.

I'm going to go grab a Zagg next chance I get. I've got an Invisible Shield on my Z10 and I actually really like the texture, and the smudge-proofedness. My Q10 after just a day is driving me nuts with finger prints.

I don't like iShield protectors because they're too rubbery and get in the way of swipes. I use generic clear glossy type protectors that feel just like the glass, but do get scratched more easily than an iShield. I go through about two a year, but at around $10 after tax for two, it's cheap enough.

If you want a scratch free screen.... protect! protect! protect.

If you are quite happy with your screen getting scratched, then no need to protect.

Im totally dedicated to ISHIELDZ as they have a life time replacement guarantee and at my local TBOOTH they will just do an on the spot free warranty replacement and put a new one on for me and that's on all of my devices.

You might wanna give them Glass Protectors a try, recently switched from my beloved Brando Protector's to a Glass one and the difference is night and day =).

Clarivue has one for the Q10: Blackberry Q10 Tempered Glass Screen Protector - XT-Glass | Clarivue =).

Never used one on any phone, and I literally owned dozens. I had a scratch only once on my SGS3, don't know how that happened.

Just make sure you never have anything else in that pocket where your phone is and you are safe.

I used a screen protector for a while...was not happy because it seemed to generate a static electricity that attracted all sorts of lint...and I'd be constantly wiping that away. After a few weeks I got rid of it...happier to be touching the glass it feels better and my phone stays cleaner. I've never used a screen protector on any of my blackberries. Hey, if it gets scratched and that bothers you, then you can throw a screen protector over it.

If you buy and sell devices often, get a screen protector. Devices with scratch-free screens sell at a higher price. It's cheap insurance that pays off when it's time to sell our device.

One grain of sand stuck on the inner lining of a holster or pouch is enough to put a scratch on any unprotected screen. It happened to my 9900 and the microscopic scratch always made me sad each time I noticed it.
