I thought these screens don't burn in.

AMOLED screens can burn. The dye in the cell that provides the color is depleted with usage. It seems a little early for this to be happening to Q10s, but if the phone was heavily used by the previous owner this may have happened.

If you Google AMOLED burn you will find some YouTube videos and other advice that claims to fix it. I don't know if these work. I've had an AMOLED monitor for over two years and a BB DA-C since they were released (before Q10s) and neither shows any sign of burn in.

I'd be careful of keeping bright images on screen in the same place for too long.

    Read this:

    http://developer.blackberry.com/design/bb10/oled.html

That's why for instance on my Power Clock app I have the time move upwards on the screen incrementally every minute to give pixels a rest.

That is why I purchased your Power Clock, the other clock app I was using burnt itself into the display in a very short time. I've been very happy with your app, especially with your quick response time to my questions and ideas.

Posted using 10.2.1, thankfully not 10.3.1

I got a bit of a burn in on my z10's screen. It's not very noticeable because it's about a half inch diameter circle. It's sometimes a bit annoying but its rarely visible.

As for the "screens don't have burn in's anymore", here's an article saying that LCD screens aren't immune
