This is soooooo frustrating! I know it's not the cable or lack of power from the USB port as I'm using the same cable to sync my Z10 on the same Windows 7 USB port...

Are you using an USB extension cable? I get that problem sometimes when using an extension. Did you try different usb ports or the charger using the same or a different cord?

It's the official cable that came with the device. The same cable works on my Z10 on the same USB port and charges the Q10 on my MacBook. Just doesn't work on my HP laptop... ah well... become accustomed to BlackBerry stuff just not working..

Sounds like USB port doesn't recognise the device to provide proper current for charging.

I don't think it is fair to blame the BlackBerry when you claim it works on the Mac.

Sounds like the HP doesn't recognise the phone or the drivers for the phone and isn't sending enough power to the port for charging.

It used to work. It worked for about 3 weeks then decided not to work on the HP.

I like BlackBerry, but anything to do with usb cables and syncing has always been unreliable. My PlayBook sometimes syncs and sometimes doesn't.. Z10 and Q10 were the same.. and now the Q10 doesn't even read. Always been using the same ports and cables. The whole process is just unreliable.

Never had this problem with iPhones!

Tried everything. This red exclamation mark has been happening for about a week. I'm thinking I'll have to wipe and start from scratch but don't wanna lose my subway surfers score!

I have had the red exclamation mark appearing as well. It sometimes happens, sometimes doesn't. I'm also using the official USB cable that came with it. Is there anyone that knows an official, step-by-step solution to solve this problem? Thanks.

I was having an issue with this...i put my USB storage to "Auto detect" and it seems to have fixed it. I had it on Mac connect for our home computer...Hope this helps
