They both have the same horsepower, so it's a matter of form factor preference.

The Classic has the trackpad, a slightly bigger screen, and USB OTG, but is a bit bigger and heavier.

You can get a Q10 used now from $110 to $180 CDN on Ebay. A Classic will be significantly more expensive. The larger screen helps. If you are mainly emailing and texting, go for the Q10. If you do more multimedia stuff, gravitate to the Classic or for a little more get a used Passport for about $340 CDN.

It depends on what you're looking for in a smartphone. If you share some of your requirements we can offer better suggestions.

Definitely a classic ! Can't stand using my Q10 anymore with the small screen and no Trackpad!

Good replies here. I just find the classic way too heavy in weight.

I prefer to Q10, the best companion for daily use. Small, stable, one-hand using.

Compare the specs. I think internally they are just the same except for the buttons and battery.

I like both phones. Both have Pros and Cons; however, I use my Q10 more. As many people have mentioned, the tool belt is not necessary but it is a nice feature and I miss it on the Q10. Also, I do not swap the battery very often on the Q, but it is nice to know that I can if I ever need to. This will also likely add to the life of the phone.

Specs are same, q10 is more pocket friendly. Toolbelt is not needed, because it's small size, easy to operate with one hand. Why pay more if you can pay less

I have both the Q10 and a Classic and I must say I love the tool belt on the classic. I also have a passport and swap between it and the classic on a regular basis and find it easier just because they use the same sim. I do like the feel of the Q10 but found it hard swapping sims with the use of an adapter. At the end of the day it's just down to preference.

I have them both and as stated it's all preference. For me I prefer the classic in just about everything (screen keyboard, toolbelt, volume buttons) however I do like the size of the q10 a lot and the back has a way better feel though I could do without the replaceable battery. I don't mind taking the phone apart for the one and at most two times that I change a battery. I think you really need to use both to decide which one you like better but you can't go wrong with either.

Trackpad makes a huge difference here. Get a Classic, one of the best "classic" BlackBerries nowadays.

I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference. The entire Os is gesture based which makes some of its uses redundant. Plus that toolbelt is an eyesore if u ask me. Aside from the keyboard I don't see a need for physical buttons. It's a thing of the 90s

I just got my Q10... loving it! I got it used on Letgo from a local guy for $30 in near mint condition. That definitely helps my love for it so far!

    Perfect size and form

After using the Classic I don't think I could go back to the Q10, mainly because of the screen size. I got around fine without the toolbelt on the Q10 and it took some time to really start using it on the Classic, but now I use it all the time.

Classic is bigger and heavier so your hand size might make a difference when choosing between the two.

They both have square screens. So not much difference in screen. You choose removable battery over track pad and non removable. Personally the Q any day

I own both- the classic as my personal device and the Q10 for my business. Both are great devices, but I prefer my classic for any one of a number of reasons already mentioned on this and a number of other posts: screen size, keyboard (classic has a far superior keyboard in my opinion), brighter screen, weight (classic feels more solid). I can live with those when I use my Q10, but the thing I miss the most is the tool belt. I know a lot of people don't think much of it, but I never realised just how much I use it (particularly the track pad) until I have to use my work phone and then it surprises me all over again.

It ultimately comes down to personal preference and how much you are looking to spend and I suspect therein lies the rub. I only got the Q10 for my business as I managed to get it second hand on ebay for 40 (whereas the classics were significantly more).

I love my Cobalt Blue Classic. But I could choose only one, I would choose the Q10, in light of BB10's imminent demise within 2 or 3 years or so. Why? With BlackBerry's expected minimal, primarily maintenace support, I think it's best to think of which device will last longer, say 3 to 5 years. With its removable battery, the Q10 gets the nod. I happen to like what the toolbelt adds to the overall BB10 UI, but I would think long term if I were the OP. If the OP wants the most out of two years worth of a BlackBerry PKB device, then the OP ought to go with the Classic, heavy yet solid, and arguably the device with the best overall BB10 PKB experience.
