Does the Q10 sold by AT&T have a pre-installed AT&T apps? Not a fan of pre-installed carrier apps so I am asking those who bought the handset from AT&T, Verizon, etc.

All AT&T phones do, except for the iPhone. All Verizon phones do, except for the iPhone. All T-mobile phones do, except for the iPhone. All Sprint phones do, except for the iPhone.

See where I'm going with this yet?

Verizon has a pre-installed app but I actually find it useful for checking my bills, balance due, monthly usage, etc.

If you use a tool like Sachesi to install OS updates, you can easily delete the bar files for the carrier apps you don't need, before installing.

If I understand it correctly, then I can delete bar files used by carrier apps using Sachesi even without doing an update. Is that correct? Or is an update is necessary after deleting those bar files?

The answer is actually no. The carrier apps are downloaded in the setup when it checks for region/carrier specific updates. If you setup the phone on wifi, without a SIM in it, you shouldn't get carrier specific apps. If you put in a SIM and then check for updates, you will see a small update available, which are the carrier apps.

With all that said, unlike the older BlackBerry phones, you can just delete the carrier apps if you don't want them and they will not come back unless you check for software updates.

I actually don't remember any carrier apps on my Q10 when I got it. Either way I ended up wiping it once I got it home to load a leak anyways.
