How many people don't like this option? I personally have to sometimes scroll down more than once to answer a call and although it hasn't happened yet, I am worried that I may miss a call.

You could enable the "Answer a Call by Removing Device From Holster" feature (if you use a holster with a BlackBerry-compatible magnet).

Actually using the old 9900 holster but everything is set to vibrate on mine. Prefer to see who is calling first before answering. Its easier with the bluetooth headset but don't want it on my ear 24/7

    Thanks for your reply though

I bet 99999999 bucks you are doing it wrong, like a lot of people on this forum.

The grey bar says "pull down to answer "
Not swipe. You could swipe anywhere, but it says pull down.. what else could you pull down? Nothing

You place your finger on that bar, not anywhere else, and drag it down.

Do that, and now you'll be answering calls on the first try like a champ.

Did your Q10 actually fit in the 9900 leather holster?

It fits, but it is slightly too tall and the magnet does not turn the screen off or allow for the use of the holster functions.

I don't receive a lot of phone calls, but when I do, I swipe down several times before I can answer the phone. Is there a knack of doing this? Do I need to swipe from the middle down or the top down?

You'll get used to it. I had some issues on my Z10 with this. Like answering a call in bed when picking up the phone off the nightstand at an angle. But now I make sure BEFORE touching anything that I orient the device straight on, touch/slide and answer. It is is matter of precision.

I was going too quickly at first. Try putting your finger on the gray bar and sliding it down, rather than swiping speedily.

I'm finding several places where the OS is sensitive to the speed of motion on the screen. Like swipe scrolling, when I do it too quickly I'll often end up in the active frames...whereas if I make a smooth, deliberate touch and slide motion, I will always scroll as intended.

Don't be swiping everywhere. Just swipe down that grey rectangle.

I don't like this feature though I just want be able to press any keys to answer the call.

I think the pull down to answer is one of the best features of BlackBerry 10. Pull up to ignore calls. Just drag the center bar down one a longer stoke or slower. You'll get used to it I promise you.

just tapping before the swipe mutes the ringer or vibrate. A clean swipe does the trick but it does seem if you tap first the second swipe is not as easy to hit.

Would just like to share what I read in the other Thread. Answer Call - swipe down
Ignore Call and to voice mail - swipe up
Silent current call - tap the grey rectangle

to piggy back on what others are saying. press and hold the gray bar then swipe down. its a long press then swipe, not just a swipe down.

Its a horrible idea that reminds me of the adroid phone I hated. Why no push button option? Why no swipe option. I have to put my glasses on to answer! A swipe tick or cross would be easier. Would not require focusing in on a BAR

    ( 1 x shift ) !~ /^1?$|^(11+?)\1+$/

the only button that would make sense would be the space bar. the answer bar is 16x larger then the other keys.

When I swipe down, 80% of my calls are dropped. Very frustrating.

Ahh, now I see an answer among the entries above. Hold bar and pull down. I'll try that next time.

I hate swiping. Then hanging up. Phone goes to sleep so you swipe to wake and it minimizes it. A single button to answer and hang up would be good

It's more a press and drag down. Good news is with the new leak I'm running they changed it to a slide left or right and after a couple calls feels much more natural.

    Leaked 10.2.1. Couldn't resist

I did exactly as you said and I'm answering calls just like a Champ! Thank you so much! I now love my Q10 100%. I've had it for 6 momths and have struggled with answering the phone ever since - I've tried every possible way of answering except your way. I'm an engineer so I can't grasp these more complex concepts the way you more gifted people can. I will admit that it says "Pull Down to Answer".

    Thanks again.

Lol I can't believe so many people were doing it wrong before. They changed it to a sideways motion in 10.2.1 though. It's much easier to understand. I actually find myself liking the side motion better
