Since the new update to my Q10 on the weekend I've been unable to share music over BBM. Usually there is BBM, Text, Email, etc. but now BBM is missing as an option to share. I've rebooted a few times but it still doesn't show up. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a solution?

Most of my tracks are over 6mb anyway.

Just share a "file" instead.

I can't attach a music file. I can attach pictures, voice notes, file, contact, appointment, location, but music isn't an option anymore.

It is almost like my bbm and music are on different "things". I don't know how else to explain it. I can share a pic or file etc but just no music. I can attach a pic or file etc. to bbm but just not music.

This all started with an update I was prompted to do this weekend. Can I go about to the previous version of the BB10 software? Right now I have Software Release 10.2.0.24.

Ah, quick fix. Compress/zip the file.

It's built in to the file manager. It looks like they are just trying to stop a little piracy.




You'll be able to send that, and it should be slightly smaller.

I pulled out the battery yet again and it seemed to have reset it. It works now.

I am curious though g33k, why do you think it was a copyright/piracy issue?

Because a lot of companies worry about being beaten up by the MPAA type associations. They tend to accuse all vendors of allowing piracy so the easy way to say "look, we're trying to help now leave it out" is to do something as simple as just stop making it simple to share MP3s, etc. In all honesty, it really is just an extension so it doesn't prevent it but makes it more difficult, kinda.

Security through obscurity and all that jazz.
