I have an HTC one. I love blackberry a lot I email and text constantly for work and having the keyboard is awesome. But I just feel a little empty not having my HTC one thru out the day. I love the new BlackBerry system and everything I do miss the hard keys. But androids just offer so much, apps, widgets. I have the 2 week period I can return the Q10 and I don't want to but I paid $636 for it and I don't think it's worth it, if it was $200 or $300 I think I absolutely would. Anyone else feel the same

You are mixing up contract price with retail price.

As with anything you buy, if you don't like it, you can return it.. the choice is yours and yours alone.

I love my HTC One too and I still use it for things my Q10 can't do yet. The One is my favorite Android phone I've ever owned but my Q10 never leaves my side. The One is an awesome GPS though since TomTom just died.

    Q10 not worth 0-img_00000041.jpg

You have to go with the phone that works best for you though and if that's the One I certainly can't fault you there. Good luck!

Lol thanks. Nice GPS,I really do love both and I paid for the Q10 off contract for work purposes email and text and all. I just don't think it's worth $636 off contract. The Z10 might be and the Q10 is awesome device from blackberry just expense!

the htc one isnt even worth $600 either...heck a used htc one is much much cheaper than a used q10 which is sad because aside from the q10, the htc one is my favorite phone

The Q10 is actually reasonable when bought on ebay. I was waiting for a price drop but I found a steal and got a sealed tmobile Q10 for 410 free shipping. It is all about choice and opportunity. I'm sure the HTC is a great phone but blackberry Q10 is one classy phone well in my opinion.

I've tried the q10 and z10 and agree the price is high, compared to a Bold 9930. Of course its relative to the user, communication devices are a personal fit. IMO the OP's perspective is on the mark. I returned my q10 this week and went back to my 9930. I'm thinking about trying the moto x out, just for the benefit of the android apps, and definitely going to try out the Ubuntu edge.

Bought my Q10 outright for $688 Australian put in a nice BlackBerry flip top case I bought through Crackberry. The Q10 is primarily a mobile business pocket organizer. It can double as a social network phone but if you want the equivalent of an S4, buy a Z10 or an Aristo. Don't get a Q10. I use a Note 2 for videos, newspaper articles now the Playbook is dead effectively. Q10 and Note partnership works very well. May upgrade my 9860 to an Aristo with its 5" screen and games app focus. It won't have a huge camera or mega processor but it will have BB10 4.2.

Got my Q10 brand new from Ebay for $375. After rockin the Z10 since launch, the Q10 has become my daily driver and my Z has become my bedtime browser and car navigator.

As far as "worth" is concerned, I think things are only worth as much as you're willing to pay for it. I set $400 as the most I will spend for a Q10. It took about 3 weeks to catch the Ebay deal.

Negative title, low post count, reference to competing brand, supposed love for BB

    It's becoming beyond laughable

Anyone coming to CB to learn more about new BlackBerry devices would be beyond turned off from all the negative thread titles on here

My boss paid $129 for my Q10 (on contract). No way I'd pay more than that for it as of right now.

If/when there is a software update that gives me back all I'm missing then I'd consider it worth $200.

I don't think any phone should cost more than that.

I think my Q10 is worth every penny @ full retail. Check out the pricing on any of the top tier phones and you will see that they are all expensive. In the end you get what you pay for. Truth told I wanted this phone so bad I would have paid more. I have no regrets and I am certainly not disappointed. The Blackberry Q10 is the smartphone I have been waiting for.

You know what man.. I might be one of the few who slightly agree with you here and get flamed for it, but:

RIM overpriced this device SLIGHTLY. I'm not going to say it's worth 300 like you said, but maybe closer to 500. Or 550. But I don't know, they're pricing it like a very high-end, top-tier device and I don't know that they have the luxury of doing that anymore. It's just not feasible.

Obviously though, I think this phone has stupendous build quality, the OS is amazing, and I think that the parts used are adequate. The SOC used doesn't bother me because it definitely gets the job done. The camera is also decent. The battery is PHENOMENAL. I could go on.

But - do I think it's worth the price they're charging for it? Not really. But then again, I don't think RIM can afford to charge any less. It's not like they're sitting on piles of capital.

So, in conclusion: It is what it is. Great device, but not competitively priced.

You can switch SIM cards between the HTC and the Q10? Or do you have two different phone numbers?

Yes I switch my sim card between my HTC one and BlackBerry Q10 works perfectly. Also this Q10 device is really great I do love it. I pulled out my blackberry 9930 and it just felt like a higher quality built and stronger. The Q10 is growing on me it's just a lot of money to give up but it is growing on me every day I use it.
