I just got my Q10 in the post, and I'm having trouble connecting it to my computer. When I plugged it in the first time, BB Link seemed to recognise it (there is now a greyed out "not connected" Q10 in the list of phones), but it just disconnected straight away and Windows says it doesn't recognise the USB device. I've tried different ports, I've tried fiddling with the connection, tried a different cable, but it still refuses to connect. My Passport still connects fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: It appears BB Link connected to it over wifi the first time.

Sorry to ask, but did you try rebooting your PC?
Also, turnoff all mobile data and wifi and try again with the USB. (I know that sounds weird, but I've seen it)

Restarting my PC and disabling networking on the phone did nothing. I installed Link on my laptop running Windows 7 and tried plugging the phone in, but the same thing happened.

Does your Passport connect with your Win7 laptop?
Are you looking to do a backup? You should be able to still do a backup with the wifi connection to Link.

The problem isn't with my Passport, though. The only thing I've come across while googling that makes sense is someone said that their phone had a short somewhere in the phone that was preventing the USB port from working properly.

I'll be interested to know if you can progress this, having been unable to connect my Q10 for many months. Link just doesn't work for me, over USB or WiFi - see my earlier thread

Same here and once or twice I tried to connected I ended up having no files in my phone so I kinda gave up
