Q10 Keyboard Shortcuts?
I've searched the internet and found some blogs reporting that Blackberry Q10 keyboard will provide the option for the usual and familiar shortcuts known from previous devices! However, I didn't find an legit article elaborating on this! Does anyone has any more info in this respect?
Tks

Q10 Keyboard Shortcuts?
I know for the universal search and it is cool indeed! But for a power user would be important to know if you could use one button shortcut like "b" for browser, "u" for calculator, "a" for address book, etc! As it is the case in previous os keyboard models!

I think one of the two Crackberry hands-on videos showed the mentioned universal search feature. The Blackberry rep just startet typing on the "homescreen" and a search was immediatly done - just like on the current devices.
Haven't seen any demo of or mention of actual keyboard shortcuts yet though, would be nice to know about them for sure. - 02-03-2013, 06:38 AM #6
The shortcuts were one of the things I really loved about my Blackberry. However, I'm sure if it's not a stock feature that someone will have a nice launcher app.

I think it will definitely have keyboard shortcuts. i don't know if the Q10 would have them at launch though...

One of my favorite parts of having a qwerty. Press t or b or space on browser don't forget f for find.

Yes - the keyboard shortcuts make a Blackberry so fast & easy to use. Oddly, for some reason, most Blackberrys have the original settings set to Universal Search. When I show people (OS5 & above) how easy the shortcuts are, they think they have a brand new phone! They don't understand why Blackberry wouldn't set it up that way to begin with! So - the Q10 better have those same shortcuts. They make using a Berry a breeze!

Q10 Keyboard Shortcuts?
Wll said aalbert-nyc! What makes the difference in a physical keyboard is not only the physical feeling of typing and texting, but mainly the option to do several things at a fraction of a second by pressing just one key!

Found this video from Blackberry's product Marketing Team. I think it's exactly what you are wanting to know. The nice thing is that it also shows you how predictive typing works on the Q10.

So... I can see that the "in app" shortcuts are still there, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn on shortcuts from the home screen. I need to be able to turn off the "type to search" function and allow the keyboard to be used for shortcuts from the home screen.
On the 9900 it was b for browser, n for bbm, m for messages and s for search.
If this isn't a feature of the Q10 I won't be a happy camper lol.
