Does anyone know if the Q10 frets are cheaply chrome painted like the Bold 9900? My 9900 started peeling after 8 months or so...

    I really hope it isn't

According to this video, the frets are stainless steel, so I assume they're durable.

They mention the frets at 3:43

Yep that's what I saw too - the frets on my 9900 on the other hand are bendable sort of. Not sure which is actually better though.

There are even more videos where Blackberry reps telling the interviewers about the Q10 construction. Both the outer frame as well as the frets are made of stainless steel. So for the frets, you most likely won't see the color come off.

And yes, the 9900 are bendable. Mine are still in good condition, however if you closely press them with your fingernail, you'll see they aren't made of a solid material but rather plastic.

they are stainless. I had a 9000 or 9900 or two that had cracked frets. Vertical crack on fret caused by the smiley bend I guess. These will be more sturdy

I played with the q10 at the fan night. The frets are metal as well as the bezel. The bezel is black but metal and the frets are stainless steel.

No ! Honestly the keys are fine and I don't mash 'em. But I have noticed that I can make the frets slide up and down a bit (very slightly) between the keys. Nothing has broken and the chrome is still on the frets - they're just sort of pliable.

The bezel or metal frame around the device is also stainless steel. However it has been powderized for the black variant.

I wonder how well/durable the coating the used for the stainless steal sides? Do you think its comparable to the iphone5 material which is utter trash or better? I guess time will tell once its out and about...

I guess it is the same as the Playbook frame, which is proving very durable.
