Why does text and bbm have black background? I hope they change it or offer an option for this. I know its to save battery but would it really matter? I only use those apps for a few seconds anyway.

its black because it saves battery life. if you go online and read all about the Q10 you will see BB chose the balck theme because it uses less battery, thats one of the reasons this phone has an amazing battery life

Yes it matters to me because I dont like to be reading on a black background. I want it to be light.

I actually wish more of the os was in the dark theme. There are still some parts of the os that isn't in the dark theme, like the hub.

I never thought I would prefer a black background with white text, probably just because I wasn't use to it. But I have found I do prefer the black theme. You'll find studies on readability that go both ways. I hope they don't change it, but maybe they will make an option or an app for those who don't like it and aren't concerned about extending battery life.

Oh no! Just saw the thread stating that a carrier in Australia just pushed an OS upgrade (10.1.0.4160) that changes the calendar theme to a white background.

The MR update that many got today will change the calendar to white theme. Would like an option here, but the white theme is pretty nice. Still I prefer the dark theme on everything. It looks slick.

I do too. I really like the dark Q10 theme, and find the Z10 to be blinding when I switch to it after being on my Q10 for a while.

I've said in other threads that I'm unhappy with the white calendar since the MR update on my Q10.

After getting then using my Q10 for a while then going back to my Z10 it felt old a dated with the white themes.

Hope BlackBerry give the users a choice between black or white theme. My calendar is white now on my Q10 and I don't like it one bit.

The white lovers must be displeased with the Q10 CB too.

Let's hope the app isn't next to get the white theme treatment.


Other then that I guess we'll see in September / October time if & when 10.2 is released.
