.. And contrary to what people say, it doesn't look cheap at all next to the 9900. Not to me anyway.

Definitely bigger than I expected, not that it's a bad thing at all. And the older pics don't quite do it justice.

Much bigger than I expected too! It's gorgeous. I'm so torn between the z10 and this.
Apparently, the Z10 isn't gonna be one of my options, so I'll at least look at it when it hits Sprint. But I do know that going back to a smaller screen will make it a difficult choice.

But it's really big! I like a lot.
Hi to all, the specs say that the Q10 is one millimetre wider and seven millimtres higher than the bold 9900, but here it looks a lot bigger, i think it is a trick of light or something.

what is up with all the empty space on the bottom?

why wouldnt they put the BB logo on the bottom and make the screen a bit bigger?

You are making that common mistake of thinking that a phone is a 2 dimensional object and that there is no actual components underneath the area where they currently have the logo when the reality is that if they did move the logo people would just be complaining about that blank area on the device that still had to be there.

Man, I keep hesitating with the Z and the Q! My wife has the Z10 now, and it is a damn good phone, but still, I am reluctant with the touchscreen keyboard. I will keep on testing, I like type and go and the added battery life on the Q10

Interesting video on what you don't see :

The screen could be bigger if the phone was wider and maybe taller too. The screen is square. That was the design paradigm.

A little too big in my opinion, but I guess I must be old school especially since I laughed the other day when i saw someone talking on a Note at Dairy Queen. At the current rate phones are growing we'll soon have to have suspenders so we can carry our laptops on our belt. Arm would get a bit sore talking on it though, not sure how to solve that.

Its size is tempting me to go with the Z10 but maybe I'm just impatient.

Well the Q10 is not big .. if anything it is too small with only a 3.1 inch screen. I want a 3.5 inch screen.

    Z10 13O X 65.6 X 9 mm
    Q10 119.6 X 66.6 X 10.35 mm
    Samsung Galaxy SIII 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm

Honestly, the smart phone I used and thought was the perfect size was the Palm Pre Plus and it had a 3.1" screen size. Now, it was a slider, so holding it compared to holding the Q10 is apples and oranges. I like your idea of a 3.5" screen though and I'd love to see it in a slider form factor.

I'm in the States and purchased an unlocked Z10 and love it running on AT&T. However, the Q10 is one good looking BlackBerry and, while the touch screen keyboard on the Z10 is the best touch I have ever used, I guess I'm still a keyboard person. I will be getting this when released. And with knowing how long it takes for AT&T to release new BB's, I'll probably get another unlocked one. When the Q10 is released on Rogers, can anybody help a guy out?

I doubt we would see anything with a 3.5" display unless they make a larger qwerty model, if they are going to make a slider then you would need to give it some advantages over a standard qwerty device and typically that tends to be in the size of the screen and thus any slider would tend to need to be at least the size of the z10 in order to support a 720p display rather than a 720x720 one.

I hope it's as durable as my trusty 9900...

The Q10 is seriously growing on me! However I'll be satisfied with a high-end Z10 flagship model out of magnesium (stronger & lighter than Aluminum just as recyclicable and doesn't dent/scratch as easily).

I think I will purchase the Q10 as well due to the keyboard shortcuts ... something I cannot understand why the Z10 doesn't support. Z10's predecessors DID support at least some keyboard shortcuts, and with the Z10 allowing the user to pull up the keyboard at will regardless of the program or screen their in kinda shocks me??

I still think a side slider or something similar to the Nokia N97 for a BlackBerry would be PERFECT!

If they could take my galaxy s3 and fit the 9930 keyboard somehow, I would love it. Even better, fit it to a Note2 and have a giant screen and keyboard. Awesome.

While many of these devices are getting bigger in physical size, many of them are getting lighter, also. Lighter/stronger material can make a phone with a 4.8" screen lighter than the 4.3" device of another manufacturer.
