Q10 Battery!..... The NS1
I was looking for hi-res pics of the q10 and came across the photo gallery from the verge and the very last pic confirms it:

Time for me to engage smugmode since I predicted in the 2450mah battery rumour thread that if they did increase it over the 1800mah of the z10 it would just be in the 2000-2100 range since that could be done without making the device too bulky.

Q10 Battery!..... The NS1
qwerty keyboard and 2100 mAh battery. That seals it for me. With the Z10 BB should have put a 2500 mAh battery in it. Would have made device thicker but given Z10 a decent battery life. Will have to use one with an in built battery case or carry a spare battery. Maybe mugen power will offer a heavy duty battery like they have on the Note 2.

Have a look at this awesome demo van Jeff Gadway:
Having a 9900 I was sure to pick up a Z10 to take advantage of the screen real estate, but having seen the demo's of the Q10 is makes me hesitate... Tough choice... Anyway, in the demo it shows the (apparently) 2100mAh battery. However the piece of foam-tape between the back cover and battery suggests there is still some room left. Why not occupy this additional space to increase the battery capacity to an even larger battery? - 02-05-2013, 10:54 AM #17...When I'm sick I just stop being sick...and be Awesome instead...True Story...

I am for increased battery life at the expense of being slim.
Such a laugh I get at those iPhone users with the additional "battery" extenders sticking out of the **** to get through the day. So much for great industrial design .... at least for BB, we can CHANGE batteries (one of my biggest plus for the BB platform!). Anyway hope the Q10 will carry me through 2 or even 3 days usage ..... - 02-05-2013, 12:27 PM #20Thanked by:

...and likewise everyone who was drooling over the TK Victory renders. That one is nice from a modelling point of view of you were to neglect all the practical aspects like, component integration, usability, ergonomics etc. etc. There's a lot of highly educated group of engineers who design the Blackberry phones like they are, with a reason. Some people don't seem to be able to understand the design choices and bash a design with their own limited expertise on general engineering principles.

In a recent video, Vivek Bhardvaj mentions the darkened, AMOLED optimized themes for (native) core apps. You can see this beginning at 0:56, he opens up the calender and we'll see black backgrounds, with grey and blue highlights instead of the typical white background we've seen on the Z10. This should help to increase battery life on this device. However, he doesn't mention whether these themes are just optional and what kind of other "core apps" will get optimized. As you can see, the hub still is black on white.
BlackBerry Q10 Overview with Vivek Bhardwaj - YouTube
So in total the Q10 got:
- A higher capacity battery
- A smaller resolution (theoretically less stress on the hardware?)
- A smaller screen (less power needed)
- AMOLED technology for active power saving when displaying dark colors
This should really help the Q10 to perform very well in terms of battery life. I am really curious how this will actually work out in the end. - 02-07-2013, 07:38 PM #25
Darn I was hoping the battery form factor of the Q10 would be the same as the Z10. That means the current Z10 battery bundle charger can't be used to charge a Q10 battery but only to act as an external charger for the phone. It would have been nice if the Q10 and Z10 could share the same battery.
