Does anyone notice the battery draining too fast? My Q10 after a night fully charged just lose 5% after 10 minutes of use (mainly checking websites) ... not sure if it's just my battery...

I am having the same problem. Battery was 100% at 8a and now with very very light usage it is at 55%. Yesterday, I was unable to get more than 2 hours of use per 100% charge! Unless address very quickly, I will give up completely on blackberry.

There's something wrong with your phone or your battery.

Note that my app Battery Guru does now support the Q10, and can be helpful in letting you monitor battery consumption under different conditions so you can track down the source of any problems.

Note a key item with the Q10's AMOLED screen: light/white screens use way more power than dark/black ones, so if for example you're running Skype a lot, you can expect much higher drain than if you're using an app with a much darker design. With Battery Guru you can see the actual power consumption in semi-realtime (data is updated by the OS every two minutes) so you can observe the effect of such apps more directly.

My battery life is amazing. Even while on the red indicator I'm using the phone for quite a while. I even have the 2600 version.

I gave it a few days and the battery situation has not yet improved. I'm bringing the phone back to the Rogers store where I bought it. I'm still within the 15 days warranty. They'll have to give me another brand new phone.

As with most out of the box smart phones the battery requires time! Initially a full 16 hour charge should see it full, but then I've always been advised to let the battery drain, fully recharge it and do this process for several days. I've had the q10 since launch and day on day, the battery seems to get better!

My battery never seems to get above 95% charged - it just seems to stop charging after that unless I unplug and replug back in?!?

Close all your active screens when charging and that will solve the 95% fully charged issue.

I don't even know how long my battery lasts. I'm always charging it every chance I get. A habit I picked up with the 9930

My phone drained very quickly for the first two days. I am now getting 14+ hours per day on a single battery charge. The device is great.

I had a similar experience for the first two days - however, I am now getting over 14+ hours on a single charge)

Simply change your email accounts from PUSH to SYNC (set sync interval to every 1 minute for the accounts you check frequently and 30 minutes for the ones you don't use often.) Also, if you are using Twitter App make sure that the application doesn't only show the wheel when you try and load it. If it does - then uninstall and reinstall the Twitter app.

Could it be possibly because I never had the initial 16 hrs charge? I mean who has the time to charge the phone non stop for 16 hrs? Heck, I don't even have half of that much time to sleep.

Nobody can do that anyway, as the phone stops charging itself long before the 16h is up... Those who think they're accomplishing anything by trying to do that are, I'm sorry, just deluding themselves.

What you might need to do is drain it to zero then immediately recharge, which does nothing special to the battery (contrary to half of what you'll read online) but which does generally kick the OS to recalibrate the percentage indicator so it's reasonably accurate. At that point if you're still getting what looks like bad results you should confirm it's really worse than what others see, and then start actually troubleshooting.

I actually did what DDO89 suggested. Switched my email acct from Push to Sync. Not sure if it really works, but a single charge can last noticeably longer now.
