I have tried to look up . May be missed if anyone has asked this previously ..Sorry !

out of the 4 models for Q 10 below :
    BlackBerry Q10 smartphone SQN100-1:

    Quad band LTE 2,5,4,17
    Tri Band HSPA+/UMTS 1, 2, 5/6
    Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
    -----
    BlackBerry Q10 smartphone SQN100-2:

    Dual band LTE 13, 4
Dual band CDMA 1xRTT/EVDO Rev A (800/1900 MHz)
    Quad Band UMTS 1, 2, 5/6, 8
    -----
    BlackBerry Q10 smartphone SQN100-3:

    Penta Band LTE 3, 5, 7, 8, 20
    Quad band HSPA+/UMTS 1, 2, 5/6, 8
    Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800 MHz)
    ----
    BlackBerry Q10 smartphone SQN100-5:

    Quad Band LTE 2, 5, 4, 17
    Quad band HSPA+/UMTS 1, 2, 4, 5/6
    Quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

Which one is compatible in Oz please ? 3G / 4G

Also , I have looked at Mobicity for a pre-order option which states Dual-core, 1.5 GHz, Cortex-A9, TI OMAP 4470. is this the standard processor ? . I was under the impression they had 2 versions ( TI-OMAP 4470 or Qualcomm MSM8960 )
So i am assuming Oz gets the TI-OMAP 4470 as per Mobicity. Most websites does mention as 1.5GHz Dual-Core

Just checking with the BB die hard pro's for some advise before pre-ordering. I don't want to end up with $ 700 + mistake

Please if some one can help clarify.
    Appreciate your helpful comments.....

Wouldn't it be worth waiting for the Optus/Telstra release?

I got my Z10 as soon as they launched here which was only a month after the UK launch. It worked out cheaper purchasing outright from Telstra than I could have picked one up for online.

I'll be switching over to the Q10 when Telstra launches that here too and I think the same thing will happen. Surely the Q10 won't be more than $800 outright! (Comparable to the 550p that Mobicity are selling for). You are guaranteed no problems that way!

Mobicity also said the z10 had the omap processor in it too prior to it being released. That was incorrect

Okay, so will this model work in Europe/UK and Australia on 4g?
Which is the best q10 version of the four?
    Thanks

What network(s) are you trying to use it on? Don't the Australian networks operate of different 3G/4G bands?

Dont waste time waiting for Mobicity ... blaming BB for delayed supplies , component shortages etc... as on 10 / 05/2013 .May be order form an UK E-tailer and get he phone shipped oversees.. At least we would have the phone in 5-6 days rather than paying through our noses and getting these responses with chasers...

Never sure when Telstra / Optus going to launch...

Just my thought. BB doesn't care much about Oz. At least seems like it

    Hi everybody,

I am moving to Australia for work from Italy. I have a blackberry Q10 SQN100-3 (european model) and I have been told that Telstra and AldiMobile have the best coverage in the area I am going to. Aldimobile makes use of Telstra 3G as far as i read.

I am wondering whether I will have 3G at disposal with Aldimobile.
I contacted Powertec Australia and that is my inquiry:
    " I have a blackberry q 10 SQN100-3 that works on a quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz).

I am interested in a NO LOCK-IN contract with ALDIMOBILE. I read that it makes use of Telstra's network. My question is: do i get then 3G on my blackberry once I purchase an ALDIMOBILE SIM card?"

    Their answer:

"It all comes down to what your phone supports.

If its supports WCDMA 850Mhz, it will connect on 3G (NextG), if it supports GSM 900MHz, it should connect on GSM if in range of the signal.

The coverage on 3G is far great than GSM.

If you need an antenna or repeater to improve reception please visit www.powertec.com.au"

Does anybody have an answer to my doubt?

    Thanks so much in advance,
    Jack

Well, the screen looks pretty ordinary and I've read there's no way to turn off the auto dimming.

    Tip:
Depending on where you will travel and live in Australia, although usually more expensive Telstra is the way to go for your provider. The best coverage.

Avoid Vodafone Aus at all costs!

You clearly have your own opinions. I was with Voda AU for several years, and eventually got my contract cancelled by the Ombudsman due to coverage issues. I hear they're better - but not that much better. Now with Telstra, and whilst you pay for it, it's a great network.

There are all different frequencies throughout the world. The SQN-100 -3 is the model you want here. Depending on where you go and which network you roam onto overseas will depend on which frequency or service you get. Forget trying to match up LTE services .... we have the most common one at 1800 I think ... but the US and a lot of Europe don't use it.

I'd recommend looking at Wikipedia on all the different frequencies for carriers throughout the world. Makes for interesting reading if you are about to travel.

Oh, and my Q10 arrived yesterday. The auto dimming with this device seems fine. I have no problem reading the screen at all. I haven't tried full sun yet, but rarely do I need to use at the beach or similar.
