Just thought to pass along a heads-up. Good deal for contract accounts. I checked several pages back and didn't see a thread on it. I apologize if it's been previously posted.

    Saw this too.

I have a z10 purchased basically on released day and I am seriously considering getting one.

I know the q30 or whatever it's called is coming eventually but I just don't know when. Coming from my bold 9930 was hard with the touch screen of the z10. Even though the screen is nice, I have an ipod touch for games etc.

My question for anyone who went from a z10 to a q10, was it worth it?

Also that darn white one looks amazing.

Came cross this back on Monday (http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...e-drop-897523/). I'm a VZW 9930 user, on the fence about the Q10. This may push me...just may.

Yes for sure. 400 is a relatively good price for a phone. If it was 300, I'd buy it in a heart beat.

I bought my white Q10 last August for $49.99 on a 2-yr Verizon contract at http://wireless.newegg.com's online phone store. At the time, Verizon's own website was selling it on contract for $199.99 and even by phone they would only reduce it by another $50.

It looks like the newegg store only has Q10 for Sprint for $79.99 right now. If you really want the Q10 as much as I did, then I would go for it at Verizon. You might also want to call the tollfree number on Verizon's website and see if they have any special discounts they can offer over the phone.

    Good luck!

Same here but I pulled the trigger. Should be here early next week. I'm actually a little nervous as I really love the 9930.

    Thanks for the tip ragbert.

I'll give them a call tomorrow or something. I don't mind sighing a contract but when the q30 comes out I know I'll want it too hehe.

Now the next biggest question, back or white?!

I've never owned a white phone and it looks awesome but I've beard the build quality "feels" less than the black one.

Be sure to come back with your experience(s). I just got done a mass-texting session on my 9930 (Winter Storm Watch, notifying my people at work) and was reminded it is quite still a workhorse.

Anything with a keyboard is a work horse. Anything that is a blackberry and a keyboard is a super workhorse hehe.

Glad I could help. I know I'll want the next Q phone that comes out, too, but I love this phone and am happy to continue using it.

The demo model I played with last summer at the Verizon store was black, but I ordered the white. They both feel the same to me, and since I use a case anyway, the tactile feeling to the back wasn't that important. I think the white looks really sharp, but it's all personal preference. (You'll have 14 days after shipping in which to change your mind about the color, anyway. )

    A thought:
Since Feb 4 (Tuesday) is supposed to be the release date for Verizon's OTA BB10 upgrade for the Q10 anyway... you might want to wait until then to order it and see if they'll send you one with 10.2.1 already installed on it. It's worth a shot, and would save you the headache of doing it yourself and then waiting for everything to settle. Up to you. :-)

    Thanks for the tip ragbert.

Once youget used to the gestures, i think you'll love the Q10. Only thing that i really miss from the 9930 is the ability to hold the shift key and highlight text to copy/delete.

    Good tip!

I am torn between buying this phone and having the q30 being released "soon" (whatever that means hehe)

Then I am undecided between white and black.....

The only thing for certain is I know I want a keyboard. I should have waited for the q10 instead of pulling the trigger on my z10.....gah!

Apparently this ability is back inthe new 10.2.1 update. I've seen it mentioned several times in the forums, that you can hold Shift and drag your finger to select text. It's on my list to test when I get updated this week.

That's what decided me too - I knew I wanted a physical keyboard. A friend had lent me his older Droid with a slider keyboard on it, and I almost bought it off him instead. But after trying out a Q10, I knew this was the phone for me. It fits my hands perfectly, and just feels... right.

Noone can tell you what to do, but y'know, life is short - get what you really want. If something else comes along in 6 to 12 months that makes you drool, you'll have time to make that decision then. I think Verizon might even have a plan that lets you upgrade to a newer device before your contract ends. (Assuming they continue to carry BlackBerry. )

You're100% right! You hold shift and drag your finger just like you'd do with the old trackpad! Thanks so much

Thanks for the tip! I think I've decided that for $400 off contract, a q10 is a relatively good bargain or I can renew my contract, trade in my z10 and "make" 50 bucks since its $49 right now.

Now time to dig through all the black versus white q10 threads......haha
