    Good Afternoon,

Our CFO at company has a Q10 Blackberry and recently did an upgrade to 10.3.1.
For the last 3 days he has let his phone die, charge it and its only lasting 5 hours.

According to what I read here the OS should be settling in... but i don't think that's the case.
I've tryed 2 brand new batteries in it as well and its draining in 5 hours from a full charge.

What should we do? - Any help would be appreciated.

Make a backup with Link, do a security wipe and restore the backup and then check if the problem persists. If yes, remove all installed android apps one by one to see if there is one causing the high load.

Click on android player to see when it starts eating up the battery. But first would be wise and delete android apps and reinstall one at a time

Get a autoloader for the latest version and do a fresh install.

Android Player is definitelty the culprit. I lost about 30% battery life when I went from 10.3.0 to 10.3.1 on my BlackBerry Passport. It always seems to run in the background in 10.3.1

Yeah that's very unusual behavior for the android player. I would recommend doing as clean of a re-install as possible - restoring stuff from Link can cause issues sometimes and might further contribute to the problem. Since its a business device I can understand this might not be the easiest route considering he may have a lot of contacts and emails he doesn't want to lose. Synching as much as possible with Google (contacts+email) would be reasonably easy. I don't have a lot of contacts so saving them all to the SIM wasn't much trouble so I always have my contacts immediately after updating the OS.

The results are worth it and its pretty much the only option for a true fresh install until BB changes Link to allow us to restore contacts/txts/emails without including device/app settings (currently rolled into a single backup option). They may or may not have plans to update Link, so don't hold your breath for that one.

I've tried three of the recent leaks on my Q10 and they've all ran quite well. 2582, 2708, 2726 are all well-polished. Autoloaders are made to be as easy as possible, but be ready to set aside a couple of hours for the first time you do one - if you're already comfortable with this sort of thing you can be up and running again in around 30 minutes depending on how much time you spend doing a backup.
