So, downloaded and installed Power Tools, and then my Q10's battery got sucked dry within a few hours. Battery got hot as a firecracker too.

Uninstalled Power Tools this morning, the battery subsequently cooled, and the immense drain ground to a halt.

Was anyone else seeing this with Power Tools?

Yes, it's why I deleted the app too.

Your title made me laugh! I wonder if others are having the same problem too? I've never used this application yet, but this is something I may keep in mind once I hear enough feedback from others.

I never had much joy with PowerTools, which I originally bought to control LED colour notifications on my Q10 (v10.2) - that never worked properly. I also used it to set up spam filters for Email & SMS but after it started deleting all SMS messages to & from my daughter, I gave it up as a bad job. Can't say whether the occasional battery drain issues I experienced were a direct result of PowerTools but it's now gone into the magnificent BB App trash can!

Toysoft is an awesome dev but with a sealed battery I can't add to the drain pain.

Battery drain on my Passport as well. I deleted it but now I noticed all of these left over Power Tool files. Now I have to clean up after this app.

After deleting Power Tools I found several files left over. Here's a screen shot of just a few:

It might have been the way I deleted it or not, either way it's a pia at the least.

Glad to help. I hate it when deleting apps results in garbage being left behind. Suspicious at the worst.

I purchased power tools and have been using it for some months now (with the frequent updates they've issued) on 10.2 and have not seen any battery drain issue as described by the OP - not saying he's not experiencing issues (just saying I've not experienced such issues on my Q10).

Bare in mind that it depends also on what other apps may be in conflict with said app that could cause it to malfunction.

Bought it a couple of days ago on sale and has been working great with no battery draining issues.
    Maybe recent updates have helped?

I have had Power Tools for a couple months and have no battery issues. I only use it for system event sounds and battery sounds. I don't use it for LED functions.

Update: Finally installed OS 10.3.2.2134 on my Q10, reinstalled Power Tools, and it works nicely.

Lesson available: If you've a stock Q10 with 10.2x on it, don't install the application.

Power Tools does *a lot* of different things. Depending on what features you enable you'll notice different levels of battery drain.

I only use the wallpaper rotation (to get the weather on the lock screen) and custom led colours. Those feature typically use ~1% of my battery, which seems fair.

I've not seen a drain on my Z30 with it, works well with one thing I can't figure out how to do - stop the default (?) notification when I plug the phone into a charger. I always get two sounds, one from Power tools and one from the OS. Not PT fault obviously!
