I just now tried to send a txt from my contacts and in the txt compose screen it showed up as a random entry! The number was correct but the name was someone not even in my contacts!?!?

WTF?!?!

Has anyone else experienced this random renaming?

I should add that if I manually type the number in it is fine it's just if I try to send via the contact entry.

Did you just install any new OS?
If yes, give the phone some hours to settle the contacts and their relationships.

No new OS, and yes the txt went thru fine but really-since when it too much to ask to have the contact read who I am ACTUALY sending to and not some random name?!?

Especially with any cloud-based contacts source (I'm using Apple's iCloud) you occasionally get a disappearing contact. Even worse, if you enable multiple cloud-based contacts sources (like iCloud and LinkedIn) you are subject to "phantom contact linking." The device just randomly merges two unrelated contacts and the first warning you get is when you try to look up or use a contact that has been phantom linked.

The only way to stop it for me was to backup, do a complete wipe of my Q10, and restore but with only iCloud set up for contacts. Not LinkedIn, not Facebook, and I DEFINITELY omitted Verizon's free backup app BAPlus. No troubles since doing this.
