Today is the second time that my q by itself overheated in my pocket. I had to remove the battery and from then everything is normal, do not know if anyone had a similar experience is that something that i should worry about ... or the battery is at the end of its life, but it keeps normal at charging and can use it easily all day. my q is about 16 months old.

I think you need a new battery. Check if the phone gets hot while charging.

Mine does this occasionally too, once every couple of months. I just pull the battery and all is well again.

There is a known issue with BBM going into an endless loop if the wireless connection is interrupted.

    Reboot is the only solution.

    Could that be your issue?
You can check with app monitor.

There is never a reason to pull the battery. Just look at Z30...

Yeah mine does it too. What I find interesting is that it sometimes starts to overheat when I'm browsing the Internet and visiting certain websites (i.e. it overheats on pcpartpicker.com every time).

Why isn't that normal? I mean running into a bug/issue just twice over a period of 16months is very much discardable. This is not a big deal.

Mine occasionally over heating. Restarting the phone is useless. I need to shut down completely n wait for few second or pull out battery for few second. Then it goes back to normal.

I had an overheating Q10 before I upgraded to 10.3.1.1154. Most of my apps' "Run When Minimized" options were disabled.

I understood "twice more times"... But even so, a bug is not a normal situation Even due to an update we can all share

The screenshots look normal. However, it would have been better if we could see when you charged it last & how much battery is left because without that the data you posted is almost useless.

Also, the heating could have been just due to bad coverage or the environment.

There are numerous complaints of mobile phones internet wise as "overheating," for various brands, not only BB. One observation was that more and more demands are made on reception "straining" the battery compliance.

Dude. You're getting an above average battery life!!

Anyway, next time you run into the same problem, you may be able to find some more info. As of now, your issue doesn't seem to be a recurring one. A phone heating up is normal. Could have been because your contacts were syncing or a million other reasons.

And as joshu suggested, go the thread he pointed and check his post there. That might help isolate your issue.

I had an overheating issue on my Z10, which led to battery issues. The battery became so bad that it eventually killed my Z10 (I have no idea how). I didn't know it was a battery issue until I put the battery in my replacement Z10. After a few hours of putting the old battery in, the phone was making noise and heating up like crazy, until it too died.

Ever since then I've taken battery issues very seriously

When downloading the upgrades from BlackBerry - the 300Mb files - this is the only time (twice) that my phone really got hot. How many apps you guys running at the same time?

I had a stocks app I was using -- it was refreshing as an active frame (showing share prices) that caused my phone to heat up a little. Closed that active frame and the phone hasn't been anything but cool since. That's the only time my phone has even gotten warm.

My phone overheating again today's afternoon n drain my battery from 75% until less than 10% in just 50min. Only pull battery out, wait for my phone n battery cool down, then restart the phone. I am not sure what is going on? But it happens sometimes.
