So all of the sudden my phone seems to have decided not play any sounds whatsoever anymore.

No sounds for texts, phone calls, music...nothing.

Have tried resetting with power button and pulling the battery.

Any other suggestions?

Do you still get sound through headphones? If you do it could be a defective speaker.

Thanks for the suggestion. Sound does work through headphones although it only plays out of the left earbud.

Very frustrating that BlackBerry can't even get the simple things right. Looks like i'll be returning this device to verizon tomorrow.

Go into System Settings, check Notifications and make sure sound is up and then go into Main Volume and make sure sound is up. You may have accidentally muted your phone. I've heard the middle button between two volume keys if held in long enough mutes all sounds versus just muting your mic, but not sure if that's true

Darn... the only suggestion I have then is trying a security wipe and reinstalling the OS. Don't forget to make a backup first. But honestly, based on what you've said I think it is a defective BB. Sucks! Good luck.

Why does nothing happen when i am using the speaker mode during a call!? IT has to jump over speaker mode and return to headset or Handset mode. But there is nothing happening on my BlackBerry Q10. Software issue???

I think it's a software issue. I wasn't able to resolve the issue and ended up having verizon send me a replacement q10

I don't think it's a software issue as if it was we would have many more reports on this problem. This is probably a hardware issue. My first Q10 had a hardware issue as well and I replaced it, now it's working fine!

I've seen a few other people with the problem. I heard it speculated that when the phone unexpectedly tries to play 2 sounds at once it could cause it. I think my phone lost sound when I was receiving an MMS and then also got an SMS at the same time.

But again, this is purely speculation on my part.

Do you have a suggestion if the headphones don't work? My speakers work great, but I'm just about to board an airplane so plugged my headphones in for the first time and they work for a split second, then stop whatever is playing. Thanks - sorry if I'm hijacking a thread!

Nobody else with problem with the Q10??? The Speakers mode on Keyboard isnt working during calling! Just on touching speakersmode on Touchscreen is working!

So I have to wipe out my phone and send it in apparently! I paid for a ton of apps for my business and BB link wont let me back up my phone!!!!! Waiting 30 minutes and it still says preparing to backup! So frustrated with the Blackberry! I need a phone for work and have work files on this phone that cant be backed up now!

I have sounds and music coming out of the speaker and headset but nothing out of the plugged in headphones. My Bluetooth HD-10's and Platronic M-25 work perfectly so not having a corded sound link is not a major concern. Looks like my daughter has another set of ear buds to destroy.

The jack is pushed in as far as it will go however it doesn't look like like it is in all the way. Kinda skeptical about fishing around in there as i don't want to risk damaging the phone. Nothing seems to be loose or rattling around in there.

Brand new, put it overnight in plane mode and mail and SMS sounds gone!!!! How can this be?!?!? I checked all possible settings, made a hard reset, removing battery (NOT easy) but nothing. The ONLY 2 reasons I want a blackberry is keyboard and sounds and now this?!? After just one day using it. Please, Blackberry, tell me what's wrong!!!
