    Right now i have 2 bars of reception, the BB logo and wifi indicator, next to which I should have a 4G or 3 G indicator, but there is nothing there.

    Any ideas why? I can still make calls.

    Turn off WiFi and look again, or move out of WiFi range. I think you're seeing the indication of which service is routing your data.
