Hi there,
just got my Q10. All is good, except the camera. It just makes awful photos.

Example (it's not even a sunny day, the sun is not hitting the camera directly):


I've seen the pictures taken with the Q10 thread, and I long for that kind of quality.

The frontal camera makes better photos in every situation...

Is my camera busted? The lens seems clear inside and outside the case.

It almost looks like the plastic film wasn't taken off when it was built. Has it always been like this? If not then something may be wrong with camera module. Seems really blurry. What camera settings are you using?

Thanks for the answer.
I bought it used, will ask the previous owner if it always like this.
There is no plastic film on the outside, nor does it look like there's anything between the camera and the lens.

I had this interesting glowing effect on few of my images and the reason for it was fingerprints on the lens. Please, check if your lens is clean and there is no protection film left there

EDIT: you already answered the protection film part of the question, and I guess you also cleaned the lens. Could be displaced lens due to few drops...

bb10_fan, thanks for the answer. I "cleaned it up" with my finger, and it seemed pretty clear, it wasn't.


It actually shoots some decent pictures

And I'm amazed at what a difference it made.

Also I get better results by hitting the space bar to take the picture, vs using the touch screen. I seem to be able to hold the phone steadier.
