Do I have to use BlackBerry link, to copy a file from my computer to my Q10, be it a picture, song, or document? I don't want / need another program to learn or install on my system just to do what I was able to do in the past with a simple click and drag using a basic USB connection.

Under Settings/Storage and Access, Turn on 'USB Mass Storage'. Plug it in to your computer & it'll work like any other USB stick.

Nope you don't have to in fact when you plug in your BlackBerry without Link your drives work just fine!

Yup. Turn it off to work with Link unless you want to use Link via WiFi. That's the way I use it.

If you want to do backups and restores, you can use Sachesi instead of Link too. You can download it in the BB Leaks forum
